On paper, I wouldn’t care at all about the newest Xbox exclusive, Culdcept Saga (the words “card battle” alone make me break out in hives). But, thanks to a strangely engrossing demo that appeared on Xbox Live a month ago, now I’m actually interested to try out some more of this card-battles-meet-board-game hybrid. So now I’m actually kind of excited to hear that Namco Bandai has shipped the game to store shelves today. The story is your typical fantasy fare: something about a magic book, saving a kingdom, yada yada. However, the gameplay is bit different and oddly addictive. The best way I can think to describe it is to say it’s like Magic: The Gathering fused with Monopoly. So if you like either of those games, you just might enjoy this.

I have the PS2 edition of Culdcept and I LOVED it! I’ll be picking this up tomorrow no doubt.
