
Not that it’s news to us, but there’s an article in Reuters talking about how griefers act as “cyber bullies” terrorizing kids. Dr. Sally Black, Reuter’s apparent expert, makes mention of how griefers trap a “victim” and “attack a victim throughout the game.”
Why this is considered news is beyond me, though I think it’s important to take notice of the tone of the article. It seems to me that more often than not lately news writers have been making full use of the notion that video games are out there to hurt our kids and pull them into a world of addiction and social depravation.
Kotaku has a few good words about it, and I definitely agree that making an analogy to drugs and alcohol was absolutely lame.

Because its so hard to turn the game off and come back later when the “bully” isnt around.
