Daggerford Modder Talks NWN2: Mysteries of Westgate Part One
Former BioWare producer Alan Miranda talks about his company Ossian Studios and his latest premium mod in development for Neverwinter Nights 2, Mysteries of Westgate. Miranda who produced Baldur’s Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal and was associate producer for NWN1 broke amicably with BioWare. After relocating he and his wife formed Ossian Studios. They have released the first premium mod for NWN1, Darkness over Daggerford as a free download on the NWVault. The award winning Daggerford mod has passed the 50K mark for downloads.
Ossian now has a second premium mod in the works, this time for NWN2 entitled Mysteries of Westgate (MoW). The mod is independent of both the main NWN2 storyline and the Mask of the Betrayer expansion and will level characters from 8th to 14th level. Following Atari’s directive to make MoW “custom content light,” the mod focuses on the adventure adding some new creatures, a new tileset, new placeables, and plenty of new music to the game.
Miranda talks about the differences of working with the NWN1 and NWN2 tool sets. He also sets the scene for MoW. Miranda hopes players will find MoW a good balance of role-playing interaction with NPCs and objects and combat.
