Dark Souls 2 Players Have Died 183 Million Times

More than 7 trillion souls have been lost by Dark Souls 2 players.

These lost souls (which currently number 7,108,003,774,564 to be exact) are just the top of the iceberg for recent figures that spell a tale of (far from unexpected) gloom and doom for players of Dark Souls II.

The player death toll, for instance, currently stands at 183,609,402. Comparatively, only 183,863 have reached a “total clear” status with the game. These figures, detailed at Beyond the Bonfire Dark Souls 2 website, also break down the death toll to reveal how players have been losing their lives.

Not unexpectedly, the vast majority of player deaths(121,590,579) have been caused by the game’s enemies. Falls took the second place spot as the most prolific killer (33,442,561), followed by other players (11,963,383) and “other.” Traps, meanwhile, landed in last place with a measly 3 million player deaths to their name. Of, course, with it having barely been more than a month since the game’s release, we can probably expect all of these figures to balloon as time goes on.

I really want to get into this game, given that I was such an avid fan of the first one (though I never played), but I can’t find myself to pick up the controller. I’ve accepted that this game is going to be horrendous for me yet I’m always reluctant to start it up. I just guess that it will be a long and unforgiving road to the end, given that I even make it that far.
