Dark Souls Soul Guide

Not surprisingly, Dark Souls features lot, and lots, of souls. Throughout the game you’ll not only pick up souls from defeating enemies, but also just laying around all over the place — and more importantly, picking the souls off of powerful bosses. But, what’s the difference between a Proud Knight’s soul and a Brave Warrior’s soul? Find out by scrolling down — and learn just how useful those boss souls can be to acquire some of the rarest equipment available in Dark Souls.

Getting souls might sound easy, but surviving your trip back to the bonfire won’t be. Check out Game Front’s huge video and text walkthrough for help working through this intensely difficult game. Great guide, but what is a +10 Ultra Greatsword?

A +10 Ultra Greatsword is an upgraded Ultra Greatsword, you’ll need the Large Ember and a good blacksmith with plenty of titanite to upgrade these unique and special swords. Here’s a list of all the known Ultra Greatswords: Greatsword, Dragon Greatsword, Demon Great Machete, Black Knight Greatsword, and the Zweihander. The Zweihander is the easiest to obtain early in the game, just run to the graveyard in the Firelink Shrine and find the giant skeleton. Run past the giant skeleton and grab the sparkly item behind it. Whether you die or not, you’ll have an Ultra Greatsword, ripe for the upgrading. You can find a good blacksmith with our Blacksmith Guide!
