Demon Ruins

  1. You can get to the Demon Ruins from the bottom floor of Quelaag’s Domain, near where you met the Daughter of Chaos. There’s a tunnel lit bright red from the large pools of lava inside.
  2. Equip all your best physical and fire-resistant gear you have. Many enemies in the Demon Ruins use fire, and are the minor versions of bosses you fought earlier so you’ll need those to protect yourself.
  3. Divine, lightning and enchanted weapons are highly suggested to damage to these guys. It’ll also help to have a large supply of Dragonslayer arrows if you have the Dragonslayer bow. That way you can atleast weaken some enemies from a distance if not kill them outright.
  4. As you enter the ruins you’ll come across the first bonfire. The Egg Carriers around you won’t attack if you don’t bother them, so if you want to farm some souls you can do this here.
  5. The path you want to go is flooded by lava, so the only way to progress in this stage is to kill the near by boss. The Ceaseless Discharge, he’s powerful but he’s not impossible to kill. So head down the path and take the immediate right
  6. Follow the path along the bridge and go all the way to the end. The Ceaseless Discharge won’t attack you right away, you have to aggravate it by collecting the near by Golden Hemmed set. Then the fight will begin.
  7. He sticks to using his arms to smash you into the ground, along with variations like stabs and swipes. Many of these can be avoided if you time it right, and once he’s attacked you can attack the arm while he’s trying to recover it.
  8. Magic users can keep their distance and start spamming Soul Arrows or Spears at him. Or you could also hang back to the fork in the road and hide behind the rock wall and attack his arms once they’ve landed.
  9. He also uses a flaming variation that will release a stream of fire after he dips his arm into the lava. This is almost impossible to dodge so you’ll have to either run away as he dips his hand in or block it with a powerful shield like Havel’s Greatshield.
  10. There is one other way which is much easier, and quite humorous. If you agitate him and run all the way back to the white light, he’ll try to chase after you. Then he’ll jump and slam his hand right infront of you.
  11. If you were touching the white light you should be safe, and his hand will be stuck on the ground. Now if you were paying attention your surroundings you’ll soon realize that where the Ceaseless Discharge is hanging from is a bottomless pit.
  12. Hack away at his hand and watch him fall to his doom, he’ll give you 10,000 souls and will drain the lava from the lower area. Allowing you access into the inner areas of the Demon Ruins.
  13. Head back across the bridge and head to the new area. Avoid the lava if you can, even if you have high fire defense it won’t reduce damage. Follow the path right to continue further in, however there are some items here to look into.
  14. If you look left of where you entered this lower area, you’ll see 2 corpses. One with a Soul of a Proud Knight, and another with a Large Soul of a Proud Knight
  15. There is also a Chaos Flame Ember, used to ascend weapons that increase power using Humanity, on a corpse in a lava pool to the far end. But it is being guarded by 7 Minor Tarus Demons. They attack just like the earlier Taurus Demon did, but they’re weaker.
  16. Granted they are in large numbers here so fighting them all will be a problem, if you have a Dragonslayer Bow or Poison arrows you can try sniping them from where you fought the Ceaseless Discharge. It’ll take time but you won’t be harmed.
  17. Or you can use the arrows to lure 1 to you and fight them one-on-one, other than that they fight exactly like the original Taurus Demon so you should be more than ready to deal with them
  18. If you wait you can get an Orange Charred Ring, this will significantly reduce the amount of damage you take from lava. While it isn’t perfect at least you’ll be able to mange moving through the lava pools.
  19. So if you want you can come back later once you have the ring. At the start of the new open path you’ll approach more ruin like structures, along with Minor Capra Demons. Just like the Minor Taurus Demons you saw earlier they’re weaker but come in much larger numbers.
  20. Luckily you have more options this time around, you can get a few shots on him with a bow before he charges after you. So when ever you see any in the distance, try to shoot them with arrows before actually approaching them.
  21. If you’re human you’ll also run into Invader Kirk again. His tactics and difficulty haven’t changed much if at all, But he could attack you while you’re trying to deal with other enemies. So try to hunt him down first and then move on.
  22. Continue on carefully till you reach some stairs down. Eventually you’ll also meet a Demonic Statue among the countless Minor Capra Demons.
  23. Right now by itself isn’t that dangerous, as it only has a fire-breath attack. But later on they’ll appear in large numbers so keep that in mind. Then head right and look for a path leading to a Burrowing Rockworm, it looks like a large centipede-like creature hanging from the celling.
  24. Its not that difficult to kill considering it can’t move where its standing. But it has 2 dangerous attacks, a spit attack can reduce the durability, and its grab attack. Once it has you it will start biting you then spit you out.
  25. After you’ve killed it a bonfire will reveal itself to you. Do what you need to and head back, look for another staircase going down with 4 Demonic Statues. There will be some more Minor Taurus Demons ahead so get ready.
  26. Ahead will be the next boss fight, but you can grab some useful items before heading in. The path to the right will be protected by some Minor Taurus Demons and hidden Burrowing Rockworms. At the end of that path is a Large Flame Ember used to ascend fire weapons so you’ll definitely want it.
  27. Head back at the white light, grab a Soul of a Brave Warrior to the right of it. Then once you’re ready step in and face the Demon Firesage.

Hey man,

I think you’ve done a great job with this thanks a lot for helping out with the craziest toughest yet most addictive game I’ve ever played…

dude you don’t understand I dream about this game.

deviouspoptart

On October 4, 2011 at 10:53 pm

you realize you skipped the main quest on part 8 you were supposed to take the stairs to the right of the lift you used an theres a sorcerer you fight then traverse the light an fight a boss to get to the bell tower its a gargoyle

Lildilngr

On October 5, 2011 at 3:49 am

deviouspoptart, that is the glory of dark souls, just like demon souls you can complete it in any order, as long as your strong enough. The previous game just like this one is all trail and error

Burge

On October 5, 2011 at 5:29 am

Wait you mean there’s no glowing light trail that I can follow and it tells me where to go? Haha, just kidding, I’m loving this game. I didn’t play Demon Souls as I only have an Xbox 360 so the whole idea of this game is amazing and new to me. On a side note Mitchell (if I have the name of the guy making these videos, if not I’m sorry) I think you’re doing a great job exploring and helping me see what to do as well as what to start expecting…not to mention you capture my frustration with the game in general. I have placed several pillows and soft padding on my floor in potential places where I might fling my controller in pure anger at this game…and yet I will still go back for more…keep up the videos though, they do help quite a bit.

Mitchell

On October 5, 2011 at 9:20 am

Thanks Burge, that means a lot. There’s been so many points where I’ve been really close to giving up on this game, but kind words from people like you make me want to push through it.

Great resource, really helpful. Hang in there, I’m going to need you vids to get through this thing.

Get help yes but in into there is a door that is locked after the armored skeleton, can anyone open it? Also after you walk through first white mist there is a set of broken stairs to the left and an item on top, guessing this is connected to that locked door. And finally when leaving inro area to the right on the second climb up there is a birds nest and someone asking for something warm and soft what do you drop?

Justin

On October 5, 2011 at 12:44 pm

You do know Sir, criticals are chance, and dagger is about 100%

Also upgrade your weapons. Your critical hits will go up A L O T. Personally the bandit knife.

Justin

On October 5, 2011 at 1:22 pm

Also pick up a shield with more “Stability” You can get the knights shield or pick up the shield with the iron tower at the Smith where you read the word “Fatty” on the ground, and were like fatty?! hahaha. Keep up the videos!

Good strat is to block, and circle around till you get behind them “With a dagger” and keep on getting critical hits.

thanks for the vids man. they help out a lot

Chris

On October 6, 2011 at 1:27 am

Thanks for these vids. They help a lot, and quite accurately capture the general ‘trial and progress’ mode of playing this game. *potential spoiler alert* At the end of the tutorial, there is a nest with some eggs to the right. When you approach them, they shout “Keep us warm’. No idea what to do with them. I was hoping you would address that, but sadly, you ran right past them. Any idea what to do with them?

robert

On October 6, 2011 at 2:47 am

you can have two weapons equipped on either hand and quick swap with the d-pad which would make it easier than having to change weapons in the heat of battle.

Well.. I’ve fought the hydra killed it.. an amazing knight
with a big mace. Fought the big sif wolf. Fought spinning werewolves
Big mushrooms that can 1 hit 800 HP. I’m currently stuck on the wolf.
And Drake’s lair. Keep getting wrong paths to go through the maze.. otherwise nice
Start on the faq..

Another thing.. my firekeeper died.. how to revive her so I can light fireplaces..

Okay I found a way to get past the Dragon on the bridge and found a bonfire pit just past him that makes this area a little easier to handle. What I did was after climbing the ladder up from the bonfire in the Undead Burg, I went up the stairs and back onto the bridge and triggered the fire breath from the dragon to take out the undead soldiers (a side note here, if you keep doing this you will get 300 souls every time until you make it across the bridge…I did a little soul farming, get the 300 run back down to the bonfire, rinse and repeat). After the soldiers are dead I went to the top of the stairs and used my bow and arrow to shoot the dragon. When I shot the dragon, he flew down onto the bridge and as he was midflight I started to run towards the items on the ground and ran past them. When the dragon lands he shoots fire past the stair well and then turns around and walks back to the front of the tower and flies up to where he has been resting but did not attack me (at least in my attempt). When I made it I lit the bonfire and the Dragon flew away letting me get the loot on the bridge. Plus there is a gate here that you can open and it leads to the tower with the black knight in the Undead Parish where you fight the Boar. Saves some extra leg work after death in this area.

Also an FYI, I did this as a knight with 734 HP and even if he managed to hit me with his fire breath he only takes half my life but I would figure faster classes wouldn’t really have to worry to much.

james

On October 6, 2011 at 8:16 pm

Yea I did that.. what I did was lure the black knight underneath
And let the dragon finish him off for me.. I also found a blacksmith
Under ground in new London ruins.. when u get to the bottom there is a big area by
Facing forward fk east to the edge ull see a staircase thus talking
The man is a smith n sells heavy soul arrow and normal soul arrow.
I’ve also managed to find a fire keeper at new londo. When you finish the smith..
Proceed to the narrow bridge then going to 2nd one note if u rather not fight and run in and out it’ll result in dying as the run is limited. After arriving to the water run eat where some ruins are run straight forward to the item as fast as u can as there will be lol 5 ghost after getting the item run and fall off it fight if ur cursed. By now I have level 3 healing potion

let me know right before fight the 1st demon b4 you go to Lordan, there is some crumbled stairs with an item on it but the door is locked once you get around up top. how do i get that? is there a way back later or did i miss out on it?

Note: Unless you enjoy spam, it’s not a good idea to post your plaintext email ion a comment. -Ed.

james

I don’t think u can get it.. I however think its related to the nest thing on the right side before u leave and the raven lifts u off. Possibly u will be back there later who knows

Let me know as well if any one finds out.

steve

On October 7, 2011 at 3:53 pm

catacombs: always respawning skeletons?
londo ruins: ghost got no damage?
somethong to do about it?

james

On October 7, 2011 at 4:00 pm

Yes u need a divine weapon or magic weapon from spells to kill regenerating skellies. Ghost can take dmg if you are cursed 2 ways temporary curse items or get cursed ny frogs.. if ur cursed u can hit ghost..

steve

how would i get out of blight town, i have already killed the big spider

joe

On October 7, 2011 at 9:06 pm

the skeletons don’t re-spawn if you kill the nearby pyromancer. whenever you kill a pyromancer he won’t respawn so your next time through should be way easier.

Anthony

On October 7, 2011 at 9:40 pm

****
I’m a little behind on your videos. Currently I’m watching Video #21 and you went all the way to the Londo Ruins to have the person repair your weapons. If you go back to the Undead Burg’s Main section and go to the merchant where you bought your arrows, you can buy a “Repair Box” for 3000 souls. With that you will be able to repair at any Bonfire you rest at. It’s definitely worth it.
****

Anthony

On October 7, 2011 at 9:53 pm

****
Also if you change your Brightness on your game to max setting, your videos might come out a little easier to see. Sometimes there are a few dark spots that make it difficult to see.
****
TIP:
Also I’m watching you go through your inventory to switch out some items. That seems tedious and you could easily get killed if enemies are around.
I’d recommend keeping (2) Weapons in your right hand if your Equip Load permits it. Your Spear +5 and the Dragon Sword. And for the left hand your Shield and your Sorcerer’s Catalyst so you can still cast your arrow spells. Then just simply tap the D-Pad in the corresponding direction and you can swap out weapons in combat instantly.

Matt

On October 8, 2011 at 10:42 pm

@Rob plz dont post dumb comments. doesnt help anyone and makes you look like a .
@mitchell i love what you are doing here. its not so much of a walk through as your experiences with the game which not only help other players(mostly because of your mistakes lol) but also help others understand this is a game where death is a dime a dozen and the goal is to learn from that death and come back with a new strategy! btw love the hit list as well. plz keep the videos coming, not only helpful but just fun to watch.

Brad

On October 9, 2011 at 1:00 am

Realy have enjoyed the videos.I’ve gotten past the second bell myself. But I’ve watched your progress regularly. Some of it is just hillarious (reactions).Even helped me in the begining by showing me what to expect before I went to a new area for the first time. But personaly I do not beleive its as hard as demons souls,I almost quit a few times from complete frustration(actually traded it in then bought it a 2nd time a month later).maybe it was the experience of finishing it thats made dark souls seem easier (a little anyway).Just dont give up on the game Mitchell finishing dark souls was one of my most satisfying gameing experiences ever (took months)and this game is an even fuller experience so far.

Great Job! this is helping me so much and im grateful your doing this….

Just a tip – where u fell through that whole and got cursed in the sewers (just before that giant rat) there a merchant there that sells some great armor and a helm that can really boost up Ur def…. only problem is that they are 10-15000 souls each piece

fyi – ive never been cursed down there, just avoid there steam that they let out, 1 swing with the drake sword should takem out simple enough (now that u got it at +1 :D )

Great Vids and Keep’em coming

james

On October 9, 2011 at 9:23 am

Yes I play a lot I usually stay around soul farming.. lol thus I learn yes I’ve died multiple timed as well but its where u learn I myself farm the ghost in forest after using the crest to unlock the door nea

james

On October 9, 2011 at 9:27 am

Yes I played .. one learns from dying spot.. making a 2nd char really boost ur knowledge I’m currently farming ghost and human chats worth 1000-3000 souls at the forest where u use a crest to open the door there easy farm if u carry a powerful weapon like spear u can lure them to fall off the wall..

A tip I found out after beating the bell gargoyles I managed to loot I assume a rare item called gargoyle halberd its about 15 mire attack power than normal hally.

Mike

On October 9, 2011 at 1:28 pm

cool stuff. reading them nowadays, hehehe i hate about this game is that bonfire is not always around when you needed them the most.

Siy

On October 9, 2011 at 3:19 pm

I went back to blight town to find the 2nd pyromancer but ended up getting attacked by the first one cause he went down there to learn a spell he attacked me and killed him will that stop the 2nd pyromancer from showing up?

james

Kevin

On October 9, 2011 at 8:33 pm

I’ve seen you pass bye a bonfire in the forest a few times. It is located left of the shining locked door. The wall there is fake. Just Fyi.

Rian

On October 10, 2011 at 2:39 am

I tell you what guys. I played demons souls, and honestly it has helped a little but not by much. I am just as frustrated with this as demons souls and i love it. Theres alot of stuff you can do and explore as well. When you go underneath the dragon and kill the rats, if you go up the ladder and take a left theres a knight up top kill him and take your bow and shoot the dragon from the top you will get 10 k souls and im not sure but i think he dies. Either way the dragon will not be at the bridge anymore and you can go across get a couple items and open the gate then you dont have to go under the bridge anymore at any point in the game. I am at the blighttown right now. Have yet to use wiki or walkthrough. But i do enjoy leaving comments and helping people out.

Dee

On October 10, 2011 at 8:33 am

@Rian

Ya, I did that too. Maybe a glitch?

Mikey

Hey i noticed you havent gone to the gate you opened up below.
And that area with the big cats?
Thats where the sealed door leads to which u buy the seal for 20k to open it up. 1k to 3k souls each for what you kill there.

Hey Mitch ive notice u still got +1 to your flask just wanted to point out there are two fire keeper souls one in blighttown surrounded by those damn Dart shooting s and those demon dogs. to find it head down to blighttown from the valley of the drakes dont worry u dont have to go all the way down to blighttown just part of the ways when u get close to the Elevator is wat i like to call that stuiped thing there a sewage drain just behind it there abunch of those guys i mention before and the other is well your not going to enjoy this because it in new londo ruins Surrounded by 6 ghost Yaya! when u 1st enter the area were u meet the ghost look to the right ull notice a small little island with an item out there and a VERY VERY narrow path too it smell like an ambush well it is 4 ghost pop out and kill you. what i like to do is ninja that damn item i run passed all the ghost because there taking there time doing there rising dance once you get the item is mission complete if your rlly lucky u can still run back an GTFO out of there just make sure u dont have alot of souls because if u die just kill them goodbye

Zerohunter

On October 11, 2011 at 4:38 am

Oya one more thing Your videos are ing funny love the sound effects Lol glad to know dark souls is making other ppl depressed not just me and dont feel bad when you lose over 10k or 20k souls when u lose 50k thats when u can shed some tears…..sigh

james

On October 11, 2011 at 7:08 am

I’ve actually found 4 firekeeper souls.. after u beat a main boss in blight town. There’s s path that leads u to a merchant looking monster next to the bonfire ull see a spider like wall.. keep hitting it until it dies ull get a fire keeper soul so flask to +4 ^_^

yourworstnight

On October 11, 2011 at 8:42 am

James,
Im currently at +2 and would like to get a fire keeper soul xD.
Are you talking about the spider princess scary lady? or is this a whole knew boss in blighttown that i dont know about. And is there another one in blighttown surrounded by which group of dark guys.

And also, whats the easiest boss after u ring the second bell.. Im getting raped in the sen fortress and the ghosts are destroying me. And the dam sif fox is raping me.. I just had to be a melee..

Mikey

On October 11, 2011 at 10:22 am

last vid was very dissapointing due to the fact that ceasless discharge does not follow me all the way back to the white light door and cant get his hand jammed in the pillars…. anyone got any tips on this boss other than the hand jammed routine?

Ryuu

On October 11, 2011 at 7:38 pm

watchign your latest vid you said soemthig about the drake sword, you can get all the scales you need plus another dragon wep, if you go down the tree in blight town, somethign hollow, on the other side of the place accross from that red spider witch cave, near the place with leaches. there 2 illusionary walls to teh left and the other behind a chest (its not a mimic) make it to the bottom( btw there is a bonefire at the top when you enter it) by droping down from branch to branch. you’ll be in avast open area and theres scales scattered around the area 3-4 from items on teh ground and 2 from teh hydra. and you can get a wep from teh dragon lord at teh very end by cuttign off his tail (he dont’ care he dont’ attack, plus it grows back.

Ryuu

On October 11, 2011 at 7:40 pm

oh btw i suggest buying some curse cures cause there are those big bug eyed frogs there. but you can run past them if you want or down ladders

Ryuu

On October 11, 2011 at 7:56 pm

knotice soemthing, idk if you got it off video or not but back where cesless discharge was there is aflame ember past all teh guys that are now on the cooled lava, once you kill them all (btw they dont’ respawn when your die or got to bonfire) near the end you will see a small item light in the middle of the lava, you have to run up and get it. you will die but you can easly just go back and recovers your soul which will be laying on safe ground

Devin

On October 11, 2011 at 9:54 pm

hey great fiveos you have helped out big time on this game no joke thanks man but same question as mikey i had proublems getting ceasless discharge to follow me to the first time i got the gear he killed me then i came back and went to the safe spot and ran back but he wont log his hand in there someone tell us what is the deal with that

logan

On October 12, 2011 at 12:21 am

Am i the only one who wasnt helped a single bit by anything on this walkthrough!?!?! the supposed “first merchant” was just someone with a katana who tried to kill me, u dont get anything except a key from beating the asylum demon and that does not work on the door past the first hollow knight! either i have a defective copy or something else is seriously wrong here.

ValvelessKnight

On October 12, 2011 at 3:40 am

Logan, what he meant by asylum demon’s item is that you only get the rare weapon if you defeat it without running through the door first. Aka no chance to pick up your shield and sword. Pretty much only doable unless you’re very skilled, can sustain beating your head against a brick wall repeatedly, or just started with black firebombs. :P

justice

On October 12, 2011 at 7:33 am

so here’s my problem… played demon souls and by default it you attack an npc they generally will leave if you have your shield up in defence.. in dark souls it seems like there is no default and any ill will towards npc’s seems to permanently stay hostile towards you.. ie the pyro teach…. wtf do i do now? acidentally attaed the pyrio teach in depths..did i totally f myself er what?

Ryuu

On October 12, 2011 at 8:52 am

Justice, i beleive you can go to the guy in the tower where you ring the bell in the church, there you can get rid of your sins for an amount of souls. i acidently hit a covanant person by misstake fighting a nother ghost, got rid of my sins and i was able to talk to him with out no hostilities

I cannot seem to find a way out. I keep going artound in circles. I was trying for 3 hours+ last night. Need help. Thanks

Rob to get out you need to go twords the right face out from where all the platforms are on the ground floor, before you hit that spiders lair the big white hill you will see a few torchs on the right with a ram going up take that rap and follow the ladders and elevator up to the top an dyou should get out.

Burge

On October 14, 2011 at 10:05 am

@justice
From what I understand the cat ring from joining the forest hunter cult (or whatever it is) allows you to do some PvP if you are connected using the internet. If you’re wearing the ring, the cat Alvian can summon you to the forest when other players enter the area and start killing other members of the group (or the humans in the area). I haven’t tried it mainly because I don’t have X-box live set up with my account right now. Another perk to the forest hunter is that a merchant named Shiva will appear in Blight Town. He is supposed to be under the water wheel somewhere but I have yet to find him. I seems he has some good gear to sell, mainly weapons and a ring that boosts the durability ranking of your weapons (good if you’re using crystal weapons or long blades with very low durability).

Oh and on a side note if you attack any member of the forest hunter group then you are automatically attack by any other member and Shiva will no longer sell items to you, which as far as I can tell is the only real downside for someone playing offline.

to every one that goes to explore the catacombs, its a pain unless you have a devine wep, but worth it caues if you kill teh boss you can upgrade bonefires even more.

also a question fro all. i know there is a “light” spell some where but i cant find the merchant again. and one help?

Burge

On October 14, 2011 at 1:57 pm

@ Ryuu
I was watching another walthrough by EpicNameBro and it looks like you can buy the light spell through an NPC named Dusk.

To free Dusk you need to kill the Hydra and then leave the area or quit the game and then return to the lake where you killed the hydra. If you run all the way past where the Hydra was you should run into a golden colored crystal creature (similar fight style to the blue guys that you have to fight to get to the Hydra). After you kill him Dusk with litterally drop out of his back and talk to you. She will give you her summon sign and leave. Apparently you will be able to summon her near a rock at the base of the lake where you killed the Hydra and there she will sell you some spells including the light spell. Oh and it seems if you don’t do away with the crystal monters here, they can kill Dusk…so be careful.

Burge

On October 15, 2011 at 12:36 am

Just a quick update on the Forest Hunter Guild or whatever they are. If you join the guild they won’t attack you, however this takes away a good soul farming area and some people might be inclined to attack the hunters and break the covenant, however I would advise you not to do this. I realized that I switched my covenant to the Chaos covenant and that was why I couldn’t find Shiva while I was in Blight Town and while attempting to return to the Hydra location I was attacked again by the hunters. So I switched to the forest covenant again and there was Shiva just to the left of the ramp leading up from the swamp to the water wheel. I then switched back to chaos covenant and I was being attached by the forest hunters again and Shiva was gone.

So if you want to join the forest hunters to get Shiva’s shop opened in Blight Town then you can. Then if you decide to harvest some easy souls then go ahead and join your closest covenant and have at it. It looks like this is a loop-whole in the gaming mechanic so you don’t break the covenant and suffer no repercussion.

Well I’m at +6 flask now.. have +5 lightning hally +5 dragontooth. 2-+6 demon fire machetes. +5 enchanted falchion (my gave against Undead. I’ve fitted 3 major boss souls for the lordvessel umm basically beaten every area possible.. the 2 most annoying spots is say are after u fight a centepeade boss in demon ruins you’ll come across these annoying stomping jumping dragons that reallllyyyyyy hurt but once u kill one the don’t respawn (by my count I’ve seen maybe 15-20 of them.. 2nd annoying part is tomb of giants although sunlight helm is very helpful the skeletons are thw hard part as the ledges are narrow to dodge but ill admit those 2 areas pay off for the best farming spot in the whole game… Once u get near the cracked open space where its no longer dark u got another tunnel to run through after killing 2 walking skeleton towers once through theres a pond like area baby skellies spawn infinity times and drop humanities.. in 30 mins 100k souls easy with silver serpant ring (200)increase drop I got 24 humanities (3) more for killing 3 pkers (warning if you human place is a pk fest) that’s all insights I have I’m currently 70 lol

Hey, I think Mitchell shows you in one of the video’s…can’t remember the number and to lazy to scroll up but it’s the one where Mitchell is led by the hand of god in Blight Town. But basically the only way you can summon people is if they have used the white chalk stone thing to leave their summon sign and you have to be human to summon anyone(so reverse hollow at a bonfire). But if you are in human form when you are looking to summon people then…I’m not sure what’s going on. Hope this helps.

ClnQueen

On October 18, 2011 at 4:47 pm

To get your Estus Flask upgraded, you need a FIREKEEPER SOUL, and you can upgrade it at Firelink Shrine. Go down the first set of stairs heading to the New Londo Ruins, when you get to the bottom of the first set of stsirs, look on the left wall infront of the arch, and there is an old lady behind bars that won’t speak to you, but she will upgrade just the Estus Flask, +2, +3 ETC. for every FIREKEEPER SOUL you have.

@jay if u look at my previous comments you’ll find 2 fire keeper souls

Zerohunter

On October 20, 2011 at 3:27 am

and the NOT RECOMMENDED route to get fire keeper souls is to….. rdy for this??? kill the fire keeper themselves that will be the chaos lady after u beat the blighttown boss she white she ugly kill her u get a fire keeper soul doing this will also kill the bonfire u will need to warp to places and also ull lose the oppurtinity to be a chaos servent to learn some badass pyromancy spells then the the FK(fire keeper) at firelink shrine if u didnt kill the in the gold armor he will kill her for you and take the soul for himself but u can still get it back by killing him in anor londo with the black eye stone. and the last one i can think of is the FK in anor londo mitch alrdy accidently killed her she the killing her will also lose the oppurtinty to rest and warp at anor londo it may also piss off the darkmoon blade covenant so that youll be unable to join them im not sure on that and i dont rlly want to find out so if your willing to risk killing all those FK go right ahead and have +7 estus flask like you actually have that much hp to heal neways im rockin on +4 flask and im happy with that for now tell i get to new game plus

@zerohunter: thanks im at +3 now and lovin it. i like the convenience of warping too much though so there really is no point to kill them. does anyone know of any places to find twinkling titanite?

Ryuu

On October 20, 2011 at 3:50 pm

@jay you can get 4 twinkling titanite from tradeing with snugglely the crow for the 3 herds, blood, poison, and toxic. you can wander around trying to find the twinkle bugs they always drop one, and i forge teh name of the place but from anor londo’s first bonfire going to teh left path up to where you need to get one of the souls for the lordvessel i found a few there.

@Jo: you can get bolts and arrows from teh first merchant you come to in the game, before you reach the bonfire that would be right below where you clime up the red ladder to teh dragon, there is another path to the right with to undead with shields and spears, kil them and you will find a path down behind the crates, head down and straght and the merchant be on your right

Burge

On October 20, 2011 at 7:55 pm

@Justice

If you didn’t kill Knight Lautrec Of Carim he will kill your fire keeper at Firelink Shine. However if you let this happen you will be able to get her soul back with the black eye orb in Anor Londo just before the big boss fight. Also you will get the fire keepers cloths which, oddly enough, have some of the best protections for Poison, Curse, and Toxic that I have found thus far (still stuck at the Anor Londo Boss fight). However there are still plenty of places to upgrade your equipment (as her death only effects the status of the bonfire) and if you need to upgrade your flasks then you can head to blight town where you fight ceaseless discharge there will be a hidden wall and a bonfire. There is also an NPC that allows you to join the Chaos Covenant who will upgrade flasks. For some locations of Firekeeper souls look up above in the comments plenty of people have said where to find them.

The crow is in the Asylum where you started. I think Mitchell did a video on how to get back there (had to check, yes he did it is video #42 at the 6 minute mark that will show you where the nest is.)

so where on earth do you find the chaos fireball spell for pyromancers? been watching alot of mitch’s vids.. quite funny but also helpful.. ps if anyone needs good armour for lets say knight class.. look in garden area past door you need key for.. run directly behind the stone steps where you find cat and bam! full set of stone armour… jus the chest piece is 90 deffence! also found wolf ring right where bon fire in same area is.. just jump down where those 3 shrub enemies and a path will lead you there to ledge.. beware of stone guards tho

Rian

On October 22, 2011 at 2:37 am

when you join the chaos covenant after defeating quelaag…there is a hidden path downstairs beneath the bell its to the right of the entrance to the demons ruins…you can join the chaos covenant and get the chaos great fireball…its pretty badass…the more humanity you have not in inventory but used the stronger it is. I recommend only joining though if you are a pyromancer. Ive got a bandit pure strength and vit and dex. no magic and havent really died too often. got dragon greatsword(50 str)…the stone armor set. and black knight greatshield plus 10…I am going to start making videos soon as my capture card gets here…you can also kill the keepers of the fire to get fire keeper souls. After you beat smough and dragon slayer guy in anor londo and get through the painted world or araimis and through dukes archives you can kill the keeper of the fire at the beg. of the level you shouldnt need to be coming back to anor londo and if you do you can still teleport there just have to go deeper into anor londo to use the other fires to teleport back, she will drop a fire keeper soul though. My flashs right now are at plus 5

So i was lucky enough to be cursed by those stupid creepy @$$ frog lookin things… I went to the two merchants that you said sold the cure.. But i cant find the dang thing… Idk what to do!!

Kevin

On January 5, 2012 at 11:51 am

Hey Branden,

There are two people you can buy a curse cure from. The cure itself is called a “Purging Stone”, you can buy these from Oswald in the Gargoyle Belltower, which is where you’ll ring the first bell after fighting the two Gargoyles. The second merchant is the Undead in the aquaduct between the Firelink Shrine and The Depths. The cure itself costs 3,000 souls.

One problem I’ve heard is that the Undead Merchant doesn’t sell the Purging Stone in the X-Box 360 version of Dark Souls. Make sure to drop by the belltower on the roof of the Undead Parish to stock up on Purging Stones.

Hope that helps!

you can draw them back up the canyon toward

USUALLY don’t get through.

Thanks again and keep up the good work

K so for the Bell Gargoyles, I’ve found the best strategy for just cheaply killing them is to go free Knight Laurtrec and then go talk to him by the fire shrine at the first part… the name of it escapes me at the moment. Anyway after that you can summon him as well as Solaire and pretty much just let them kill both the boss’s lol. If you are trying for the tail axe thing just try and focus on the first ones tail, if they kill it before you chop of it’s tail, just jump off the building and re-humanize and re-summon the knights and try again. Good Luck to all!!! Mich rules!!! =)
