DayZ Devblog Explains Why The Game Isn’t Ready Yet

Dean “Rocket” Hall, the creator of DayZ mod for Arma 2 and the upcoming DayZ standalone version has released a new development diary, or devblog, showcasing the upcoming game.

The video, which runs for 17 minutes, contains a choreographed montage of multiplayer scenes, and some developer interviews. It also showcases the game’s new injury system, which will have more animations to reflect your character’s state of health.

In the video, Hall provides a good summary of why the DayZ standalone alpha isn’t yet ready for release, and what hurdles the team is facing along the way before they are able to do so. According to Hall, “there’s just nothing there to play, nothing there to really enjoy” as of yet.

The game will be done when it’s done.
