DayZ Early Access Pops Up in Steam Database

The Escapist, in perusing the Steam database, found an Early Access listing for the standalone edition of survival mod DayZ, dubbed simply DayZ, giving us tangible evidence that this much-anticipated title could be imminently playable on everybody’s favorite PC games platform. Joystiq asked creator Dean Hall about this, and while he wouldn’t give any sort of estimate for when DayZ will hit Early Access, his words are still encouraging.

“All I can say is that progress has been very good, we’re a mix of nervous and excited. And as I’d stated on my twitter when I announced my break from social media/updates, we are on the final lap. Part of the final process involves the actual administration of the release, which is actually surprisingly complex and time-consuming.

The most recent tangible update on the status of DayZ came in the from of a dev diary posted in August, and you can watch that here.
