DC Universe Online Megaservers Merger — You Can Lose Your Name

If you’re one of the few people still playing DC Universe Online, you’re at risk of losing your name. Now, now, don’t hate on me for saying “few people” — this whole Megaservers business is a direct result of the lower population counts. For those who don’t know, the Megaservers are not some evil ploy by a villain in a jumpsuit, but rather Sony Online Entertainment’s way of dealing with the lower-than-expected player counts. The previous servers will be combined into four new servers, a process which started yesterday.

But what happens if two heroes named FatMan are merged onto the same server? No, there is no break in the space-time continuum — one of those two heroes will be stripped of his name and forced to pick a new one. Activity and hours played will be used to decide who gets to keep their name. So if you didn’t sink as many hours into your character as the other guy, sucks to be you.

Having seen the Beta and predicted failure for this horrible game, all I can say is BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
