Dead Island DLC is — Wait for It — Delayed

In a startling predictable addition to the debacle that has been the launch of Dead Island, the upcoming Bloodbath Arena DLC pack has been delayed.

Apparently, it’s not the DLC that needs tuning and polishing, though — it’s the main game. You know, the Dead Island that was shipped a month ago and remains a mess. They’re using the opportunity of releasing the DLC to sell you to fix the game they already sold you.

Sorry, allow me to disengage my cynicism, because this is a good thing. Dead Island could certainly stand to be patched up even more than it already has. Techland might be a little late in dealing with these troubles, but at least they’re getting attention.

As for the DLC, there’s no new date for Bloodbath Arena, which includes something like Horde mode (isn’t the whole… game… a Horde mode?) and new equipment for you to introduce to the brain cases of the undead. Goody.

Feel free to start commenting about how excited you all are for even more boring content for Dead Island. Oh, and for the movie. Sigh. Too bad it’s not more like this.

I actually enjoyed Dead Island. There were glitches. Hordes of bugs, odd animations, and the occasional glitch that actually impacted game play to a large degree, but overall, it was pretty fun until it turned into the situation where all zombies were leveled and bogged you down when you went back to the start area to talk to one NPC to complete a quest you forgot about…
