Dead Island: Riptide Trailer Again Portrays a Tragic Zombie Story

The latest trailer for Deep Silver’s Dead Island follow-up, Dead Island: Riptide, goes for the tragedy of zombie stories once again. This one features a couple besieged by zombies.

It’s not nearly as intense or heart-wrenching as a kid and her family’s final moments, but it still goes for the sad piano music and reminds us that zombie stories aren’t all bashing skulls and shooting…skulls. There are humans involved, too.

Unfortunately, while this would normally excite me for Dead Island: Riptide’s subject matter, we all know how the trailer situation played out last time. Can’t say I’m buying it this time. Still, the trailer’s interesting. Check it out below.

Well, I get all my games on steam via trading, so for me Dead Island was worth it. Sure it was very repetitive, but I liked the combat system and weapon customisation, so it wasn’t that boring.

So there’s a new zombie movie around that used that dramatic backwards play to cause an impact in the first scene, just like that Dead Island trailer…

If you haven’t played Dead Island with the Director’s Cut mod, you’re missing out on the best Dead Island experience there is. It is far better than the stock game. Also, Dead Island Helper is a really neat tool with a lot of useful features. Try them both!

The trailer for the first game still gets me sometimes, the music especially was just perfect
