Dead Rising 2 Expands with DLC Theme Packs

Chuck Greene is an everyman.. no literally he can be anything with a little paid DLC it seems.

Earlier today Capcom announced its short-term DLC plans for the recently released Dead Rising 2. Instead  of new levels of fun, players can buy optional “theme packs” that seriously alter Chuck and grant him some new abilities like extra damage using sporting goods or stealth.

While the ninja pack was a pre-order bonus for Gamestop, it’ll soon be available for everyone for a cost. Along with the stealthy ninja, Chuck will gain the option to become the ultimate psycho (granting him super strength and survivability and a skill with cleavers, axes and chainsaws.) or a soldier of fortune. The sports theme pack amps up the damage on baseball bats or golf clubs and makes Chuck a linebacker with a charge attack.

The Theme packs are scheduled for release on the PS3 and Xbox 360 starting October 12 with the Psycopath pack and ending with stealthful Ninja grace on November 2, 2010.

The idea of adding all these optional new tweaks gives extra life to the non-story related hijinks of Dead Rising 2. If you needed special powers to further enjoy your zombie sandbox.. well here you go. Then again, there is a Frank West DLC on the way as well.
