Dead Space for iPhone Looks Scary and Awesome (VIDEO)
EA Mobile has posted some real-live video of its upcoming Dead Space port for iPhone, and it looks phenomenal on the platform.
We’ve got the video embedded below, but this footage offers some insights into what the game will be like. I’m getting the distinct impression of a game that hews close to the original Dead Space, rather than the changes made in Dead Space 2. For example, the trailer includes an EVA section that looks a lot like the one from Dead Space, complete with the oxygen refill stations along the way.
The game looks sufficiently gory and also seems to have some decent context-sensitive touch control ideas. We get to see the player fight off more than one necromorph up close with a melee weapon and quick swiping moves across the screen, which suggests there’s at least a little bit of thought about making use of the iPhone’s hardware instead of just porting Dead Space to a portable format.
Dead Space for iOS drops on Jan. 27, the same day as Dead Space 2.
