Dead Space for iPhone Will Run You $6.99
In New Zealand, it’s already Jan. 25, and that means EA Mobile’s Dead Space 2 prequel on the iPhone and iPad is already available.
And since it has already hit the iTunes App Store on the other side of the planet, we now know how much it’ll cost you when it arrives in the U.S. App Store at 11 p.m. EST — $6.99 for the iPhone version, and $9.99 for the iPad cut.
If that seems a little steep for an iPhone game, you’re right: it’s the high end, for sure. Although Dead Space is in pretty good company at that price point, along with other “premium” games — for example, Gameloft’s N.O.V.A. 2 and the iOS version of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will run you $6.99, as well.
From what we’ve seen of Dead Space, that download price might be worth it. At the very least, downloading and registering the game nets you some kind of unlockable in the console release of Dead Space 2, which is happening at midnight tonight as well.
We’ll let you know whether your iPhone can handle Dead Space once we’ve gotten our review tomorrow.
