Dead State Kickstarter Succeeds, Still Hungers for Brains

Is it just me, or do all gaming Kickstarters obliterate their fundraising goals? There must be some that just squeak by, or come agonizingly close to the target amount before ultimately failing. Dead State, however, is definitely among the “smash hit” crowd. The turn-based, XCOM-inspired Zombie RPG has raised $332,635, more than twice its original goal.

Now that they’ve got all that money in hand, Seattle-based developers DoubleBear productions will have to start work in earnest. I, for one, am looking forward to the results. If they can rise above the glut of other zombie titles and deliver on their auspicious gameplay promises, the future is bright.
