Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut is Coming to PC

First released on the Xbox 360, Deadly Premonition was then given a PlayStation 3 release in the form of Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut. Still with me? Well, the game’s getting a PC release.

Today, the game’s publisher Rising Star Games confirmed that Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut will be heading to PCs. They made the announcement with the release of a new trailer, which you can watch below.

What’s the game about? “Part suspense-filled horror, part action-adventure game, Deadly Premonition offers an open-world experience packed with locals to meet and places to discover, as well as numerous side quests and mini-games that will help you solve the murders and uncover Greenvale’s deepest, darkest secrets.”

Here’s what’s in store for the PC version of the game:

A surprising new scenario from the game’s director, Hidetaka ‘Swery’ Suehiro
Enhanced HD graphics with new textures
Reworked control system allowing for an even better combat experience
Downloadable content to expand the mystery beyond the original game
New bonus DLC exclusive to the PC version

However (and this is interesting for ways I can’t even begin to explain), the publisher has to go through Steam Greenlight to get the game released through Steam. If you’d like to see the title hosted on Steam, you can vote for it here.

Huge recommendation for this game. Really good story and interesting characters. It can get a bit glitchy and it’s clearly last-gen tech but it doesn’t matter, it still manages to shine. I agree completely with Jim Sterling that this is a far superior game to Heavy Rain with its ridiculous contrivances and emotionally manipulative histrionic bullshlt.
