Dear Esther Coming to Steam, Gets an Official Trailer

The spooky and interesting indie title Dear Esther is headed to Steam on Feb. 14, and it’s getting a new (slightly vague) trailer to get you interested.

Check out the trailer below, which shows off the game’s many accolades. From what I’ve gleaned about Dear Esther, it sounds a bit like Myst, but much cooler. Audio and visual events are randomly generated as you explore a desolate, deserted island in the game.

From the Steam description:

Forget the normal rules of play; if nothing seems real here, it’s because it may just be all a delusion. What is the significance of the aerial — What happened on the motorway — is the island real or imagined — who is Esther and why has she chosen to summon you here? The answers are out there, on the lost beach, the windswept cliffs and buried in the darkness of the tunnels beneath the island… Or then again, they may just not be, after all…

Sounds intriguing. Hit the Steam page for Dear Esther here.
