Death Rally iPhone Remake Due in March (VIDEO)

Remedy just popped up a Facebook page showing some pretty stellar HD footage of Death Rally, a remake of the PC top-down racer coming the iPhone and iPad in March. Check out the video below.

As you might guess from the name, Death Rally is actually a combat racer, with lots of upgrades for vehicles and weapons along the way. The remake is being handled with the help of Mountain Sheep, who are responsible for the well-received and popular two-stick shooter Minigore, and Cornfox & Brothers.

Death Rally was originally published back in 1996 by Apogee, the developer behind Duke Nukem 3D. It was the first game developed by Remedy — who most recently is responsible for Alan Wake, and before that, Max Payne — ¬†and you can actually download the old PC version for free from Remedy’s website.

As for the iPhone remake, only the loosest of details are available right now. It’s coming sometime in March and will probably be priced in the range of other “high-end” iPhone games, which means probably more than $5 but less than $10. I would expect online multiplayer as well, and from the looks of the video, it’ll probably support around six players in free-for-all.
