Dell: Rumors of XPS Line Demise Greatly Exaggerated

Rumors have been flying around the web that Dell is dropping its XPS line in favor of the Alienware since the release of a statement from the Wall Street Journal. Word from the Dell Blog is that news of the death of the XPS is premature.

According to Dell, both series have their place and Dell intends to support them both. Alienware is of course the for gamers by gamers line, while the XPS has been honing its reputation as an all-in-one machine.

And XPS gaming systems will remain an important part of our gaming product portfolio. We don’t plan an early phase-out of these systems as the WSJ incorrectly stated, and in fact will continue to refresh them to keep them on the front edge of gaming:
