Destiny Can Be Played Alone, Multiplayer Not Compulsory
Bungie has addressed player concerns about whether it’ll be possible to play the game alone in the upcoming game, Destiny. Would-be players have addressed their concerns that they would be forced to cooperate with other players in order to enjoy the game.
Addressing the concern in the latest Bungie Mailsack, the studio confirmed that you’ll never have to take part in multiplayer if you don’t want to.
Commenting on the matter, Bungie said “As for playing solo, this question still comes to us a lot, and we’re happy to answer it again. The company you keep, the challenges you tackles, the war you wage will all be products of the choices you make.
“If you never want to have a cooperative or competitive expericence in Destiny, and if you want to experience every cinematic in private, you’ll have the option. We believe you’ll be having way less fun, and we think you may find it really difficult to resist the pull of our cooperative vortex, but when we say we’re buidling activities for every mood, that includes players who don’t want to party up.”
The concerns stem from the fact that Destiny is being built with a strong multiplayer component, but the news that you can play alone should come as a welcome relief to anyone wanting to experience the game without the company of others. It’s also a welcome relief to those put off by Respawn’s also-online shooter,Titanfall, which does not have any single-player mode.
