Destiny Goes Gold, Won’t Allow Trades Between Players

Destiny players will not be able to trade items with each other.

Bungie revealed this detail while answering a user question in its most recent weekly update. Replying to a fan by the name of “Jackbandit,” the developers confirmed that players will only be able to initiate trades with enemies.

“As for swapping irons in the Tower? Nope,” said the studio. “We want you to earn ‘em. You should be able to tell a badass story for every sweet jewel in your arsenal.”

The company did say that players will be able to swap weapons between their various Guardians, but affirmed that the “weapons belong to the players who acquire them through action and bravery.”

While this news might leave some prospective players a bit bummed, those feelings might be countered by the company’s additional confirmation that Destiny has gone gold and that there are only two more weekly updates left until the game releases to retailers. Assuming all goes to plan, gamers should be able to get their hands on it on September 9th.

Good. Trades, and duping are game breakers, this was a good move and if they lose some players over it, that will barely make a dent in the over all player base.
