Destiny vs. Titanfall: We Put the Two Sci-Fi Shooters Head to Head

For more E3 news, previews and commentary bookmark Game Front’s official E3 hub.

As shooter fans, we’ve been waiting a looong time to see what the creators of Halo and the minds behind Call of Duty would do for their next acts. Bungie and Respawn (the guys and gals who once called Infinity Ward home) finally gave us a good look at their respective projects at E3, and we can now speak with some knowledge and insight about two sci-fi shooters that could very well play a big part in defining the next generation of gaming: Destiny and Titanfall. What are their core features? What makes each one unique? Which sci-fi shooter is for you? In an effort to help answer those questions and more, we threw both into the Game Front Octagon for a little head-to-head fun. We’ll let you be the judge and decide who wins each round and, ultimately, who comes out on top. Ring the bell for Destiny vs. Titanfall!

Titanfall: Lack of single player campaign is deal breaker for me.

Destiny: So its basically Borderlands 2, except without the charm.

Yeah, I’ll stick with Borderlands 2 for my scifi murder needs.

I probably have to see more of Titanfall, but it essentially looks like CallofDuty, just a lot better. Thats all well and good, but Destiny seems to have more meat to it imo

Wow, I have to admit, I had Destiny all wrong. I thought it was basically TotallynotHalo Online Deathmatch: The MMO. I think I might start paying closer attention to this game now. Though it is Bungie, so eventually, they will start screwing up their own plotlines.

Destiny wins all Rounds except for #6 – vehicles. Destiny is not only more original in terms of concept (an MMORPGFPS) but the storyline is a lot more creative too (a floating moon-like object settled in Earth’s atmosphere called the Traveler is saving humanity? Holy cow) hence giving it more originality. The customization is far vast as what has been revealed compared to Titanfall, which Destiny is involving races, classes, and weapon options along with your personalization of each. And not only that but Destiny will be coming to both Xbox and PlayStation. No PC though.. Titanfall wins the 6th round because of its mech warfare but other than that its just COD all over again with parkour and NO campaign. So there’s no story for you to fall in love with like Halo’s..which guess what, has the same Bungie minds that precipitated Destiny. Titanfall is still a great game but I believe there is an Xbox bias that comes with it, if you still think Titanfall is superior you probably own an X1 (or a PC since some of you envy Destinys presence on consoles) since that’s one of the few jewels Xboxers will get next year.

Well they are both great games but Destiny is the clear winner as recaro told us. When I think Titanfall I think CoD with mechs but when I think Planetside 2 meets Halo
