Thank you for posting this. There are very few walkthroughs yet and I had no clue how to get Darrow to give up the damn code.

Neither 4x extrapolate nor extrapolate-appeal-extrapolate-extrapolate worked on hugh darrow for me.

The conversation system in this game is BS. By radomising it, the developers destroyed it. I would’ve given this game a 10/10 but the conversation system loses a whole point IMO.

I’m currently working though my second play though

Yes Boss – David Sarif

Step 1 – Refocus
Step 2 – Refocus / Defend
Step 3 – Refocus
Step 4 – Refocus / Defend

I’m at this stage.

Step 1 was refocus.
Step 2 was defend
Step 3 i tried refocus and failed, i reloaded and went through the first 2 then selected defend and failed again. I reloaded a third time and tried placate and failed.

All 3 options failed me, so now I am confident in asking WTH!? I give it an 8.5 now. And it looses also loses a point for other little annoying discrepancies.

The game could’ve easily been a 10. I give it 7.5

The conversations contain a random element. There seems to be two different branches possible from each option – for example, when the first set of options is presented, if you select the first option, sometimes the character will respond A, and sometimes he will respond B. Depending on whether he responds A or B the conversation will take a different turn – this is why this guide includes two possible options for some steps: the correct option will depend on which randomised branch was taken. If the specified steps don’t work for you, it just means you’ve hit bad luck on a randomised branch. Reload and try the same options again, and odds are it’ll work the next time.

To Andrew, no offense I used this because I was getting tired and lazy but it sounds like you suck at this game, parts of this left a haunting atmosphere and a great sense of character appeal, conversations are well done…you just suck brah :G

No, Roux. It’s randomized. When I was trying to speak to Sandovol, I had to do it over and over and over. And even though the first couple lines of dialog were always solid, the third stage was ALWAYS random. No matter if the animations were always the same, or if what he said was exactly the same. It was always random. There is NO guide for the conversations in this game, because it’s random. Don’t even bother thinking through it. The developers ruined the conversation system by trying to be dynamic with it.

I got lucky a few times, but it’s all just random (Trust me, I got unlucky just as much as I got lucky).

No, Bill. There’s a couple of trees that each character takes. They may say vaguely the same thing, but it’s different enough to warrant an altered response. Roux is right. Just read in to what they say, use a little common sense, and it will work out. I got ‘Yes, Boss’ first try, with the augment, without a guide. It should be noted that once their persuasion level (according to the CASIE augment) is maxed, it seems ANY option will be negative (which I will admit is stupid). Even if the persuasion level drops, however, it will remain high enough to achieve the desired outcome in my experience.

Hello, I screwed uo the conversation with Tong at The Hive and am now stuck. Is there any way getting back on track? And if not, do I have to start a whole new game?

Please help! :)

Thanks,

Sander

Why dont you guys just get the speech helper so you dont have to go through all this? Its 100% easier and never random

Woah, Taggart and Sandoval’s conversations don’t seem to be in the Director’s Cut. I couldn’t initiate them.

@James: Whoa, it’d be crazy for Ubisoft to remove content in the Director’s Cut. I’ll look around and see if I can confirm that.
