      1. Exit your apartment and take the elevator down to activate the cut scene. Absolve Wayne, then exit the building and follow the map marker to locate the convention center. Enter the building and make a right, then enter the last set of double doors on the left to activate the cut scene.

      1. Confront Taggart at the first part of the conversation, then discredit his next argument. Activate your pheromones and appease Taggart to get him to meet you backstage.
      2. Achievement/Trophy Unlocked: The Throwdown (Bronze): You convinced the smooth-talking politician Bill Taggart to tell the truth in public.
      3. Follow the map marker to talk with Taggart backstage, then exit the convention center and continue following the marker to locate Sandoval’s apartment. Climb the ladder and move up the fire escape to enter the building.

      1. Move through the hall and eliminate the two enemies at the bottom of the stairs, then enter the apartment and take cover beside the white door. Open the door and eliminate the enemy inside the room, then search the body by the dining table to pick up the praxis kit.
      2. If you haven’t already, upgrade your arm augmentation so that you can blast through weak walls. Enter the bathroom and break through the cracked wall, then drop down into the bunker and kill the enemies through the grating.
      3. Duck through the space to reach the next area, then climb down the ladder in the shipping container ahead to reach the lower level. Take cover behind the barrels in the next hallway ahead and wait for the guard to pass by, then disable him.
      4. Duck into the nearby space and move through the tunnel, then enter the next tunnel ahead and make a left when you exit. Disable the guard with his back to you and make a right. Move slowly to avoid the proximity mine and enter the next area to activate the cut scene.

      1. Empathize with Sandoval twice, then use inspiration to get the gun away from him. Exit the room through the door to your right and follow the map marker through the sewer.
      2. Achievement/Trophy Unlocked: The Last Straw (Bronze): You talked Doctor Isaias Sandoval out of suicide.
      3. Hack the lock on the next door you come to, then follow the map marker out of the sewer and back to street level. Continue moving towards the marker to enter your apartment building, then meet Malik on the roof to use the chopper and complete the mission.

Great guide! Definitely getting this game. My type of game. Serious mature real world storyline. Not the convoluted rolling your eyes Final Fantasy or MGS4 Japanese storyline. A thinking man’s RPG. The guide is going to be very helpful in starting the game so you get the most out of playing it. Thanks!

Its too bad they don’t let you keep your weapons and ammo in game+.

After several playthroughs I would have like to just fool around in the gaming environment. Use bazookas for the lonely guard, npcs etc. Just push the boundaries of the game and fool around. There’s no multiplayer to keep bringing me back and after 3-4 playthroughs I would have been nice to go guns blazing. I had fun replaying Resident evil 5 with infinite bazooka and ammo. Putting this would have been another incentive to keep replaying to get a infinite ammo bonus or something. Maybe they’ll change it or a DLC

This was useful… But it depended on being able to hack things and when I try to look up the passcodes they don’t come up for the ‘TNNLHUB’ computer. As I have no hacking skill at all, this walkthrough became useless to me when it told me to hack something =’[

It’s a great walkthrough, just not suited to everyone.

I killed if I only absolutely had to, used tranq rifle and non-lethal take-downs most of the time, except for when malik was being attacked, and quests that required someone to die, like rotten business, and a few other times I used lethal force I probably forgot, I played the game realistically.

    @Joseph:

Why are you comparing this to MGS or FF? MGS is a similar-game but is more story driven, and FF is on the other end of the spectrum. The storylines in all the Deus Ex games have been very weak, and are great for people who like popcorn movies like yourself, instead of something that contains a rich narrative. This isn’t a ‘thinking’ game due to its design of being able to beat the game without using a single augmentation. Any idiot can do it, like yourself.

Actually go on the roof and look left jump ontop of the dryer vents and work you way to the buulding across from the roof you start on from there you can punch through a wall kill an enemy in the process and take out another down the hall you will find no were to go unless you have a landing upgrade which i dont so on the left is an old elivator shaft with a shotgun in it pick that up and jump down.

How the heck do you know when you can punch thru a wall? I’ve got the augmentation, and so far after 90hrs., I’ve had no luck……And for killing Bill, I’ve started over a dozen times trying to stock up, and that big sob still gets me.

Great guide =] anyways…just thought I’d let you know I found a way to walk through the front doors of the hive everytime without having to pay. If you examine the rooms of the Hung Hua hotel you should find a hive membership card. The bouncer will let you in like you’re a regular…not that it is absolutely necessary…just another option =]

LOL MGS had a good storyline compared to this? If you say so…either way this game isnt really all that much of a prequel. It’s just a better made version of the first game. If you played this game without hacking then you probably missed out on about 50% of the content and upgrades. Stealing that MEPS gun from the police lockup was the best boost in the whole game for non-killers like myself. That gun was essential in keeping Malik alive by taking out both heavy gunners with one shot after sprinting up while invisible..then it was just take out the combat riflers with the stun gun, meps or just punch em. Between gas grenades and emp grenades i dont think i had a mech last longer than 5 sec after i cycled through my gear.

Jenson’s voice, and sometimes his mannerisms, reminds me of Clint Eastwood.

Has anyone registered this game with Square Enix?

I haven’t. At least not yet. I read the legal stuff one had to sign up to first. Put me right off.

hi, i just started the game and it would be a noob question but, where can we see achievements in game? there isn’t any achivements page that we can see them.

i’m not sure im getting achievements so i jsut wanted to see them because it doesnt appear on bottom of my screen when i supposed to get them for example after first takedown or after first ghost. (i get ghost exp at left of screen but no achievement)

someone please explain me how it works. thanks

This is the best walkthrough I have found yet for this game. Of course, as you mentioned, there are many desk drawers and hidden areas to search, and sometimes valuable information and items can be found this way. It is very time consuming, however.

One of the most amazing things in the game that I discovered, was that I could take control of turrets, and carry them around with me from floor to floor, and even carry one down on the funicular to protect me in the lower level of Picus Communications. It even attacked the robot at the bottom of the stairs and destroyed it for me. No other game I have ever played has allowed me to do something like this.

I now have played through the game three times. The first time, I used a combination of lethal and non lethal weapons. I then played it and was able (with much difficulty), to go completely non lethal Except for the boss fights, of course. The last time, I tried to hunt down and kill every enemy in the game, using only lethal weapons. The most difficult fight in the game for me was trying to save Malik in non lethal mode.

This game has captured my attention as much as the original Doom and Quake games I played many years ago, and I consider it to be in the top 5 of all the hundreds of games I have ever played since I started many years ago. It has prompted me to buy the original Deus Ex, and now I am playing it to compare the two.
