Devil May Cry Gets an HD Collection in 2012

It’s official — Capcom is updating the early Playstation 2 editions of Devil May Cry in order to squeeze a few more sales out of nostaligc players during the last gasp of this console generation.

Sorry. I’m a little negative on all these recent HD collections being announced. What, you can’t be troubled by making a new game, Capcom/Konami/Microsoft/Team ICO/Sony/Eidos/Ubisoft? And didn’t we used to have a thing called backward compatibility? You know, where I could play games I’d already bought instead of having to buy them again with slightly less jagged edges?

Anyway, Capcom’s Resident Evi–er, Devil May Cry HD Collection will include the first three DMC games, all of which graced the PS2 (with DMC 3 making its way to PC). The three games will be priced at $40 and are coming to Playstation 3 as well as Xbox 360.

The pack will also include some bonus content, as well as Achievements and Trophies. Just in time to get people excited for a new Devil May Cry title, this one rebooting the series that has already sold 4 million copies.

Well i’m definently going to be picking up this HD collection. I will not be picking up that laughable excuse for a DMC game that Ninja Theory is making. I’m curious as to how sales for the HD collection will compare with the sales for the DMC reboot game.

Just give me DMC 1,3 and 4.

Skip 2 all together.

But honestly I doubt it will be worht 40 per game. And the version of DMC 3 better be the one that includes Virgil.
