Devil’s Third Devs Reveal Franchise Plans
Yesterday, Game Front reported that Tomonobu Itagaki’s Valhalla Game Studios had finally resolved its legal wranglings with THQ and won back the copyright and sales/distribution rights to Devil’s Third. Marrying third-person shooter gameplay to Itagaki’s meticulous melee combat, the title looks intriguing, and its escape from legal purgatory is definitely good news.
Emboldened by success, Valhalla announced its intention to diversify, expanding the Devil’s Third brand beyond PC and consoles to a “wide range of digital devices,” according to a statement. What’s more, the company is also “looking beyond the boundaries of video games and plan to work with other various forms of media, including manga, novels, animation and film, to create a blockbuster franchise.” If you’re going to dream, dream big, right?
