‘Dexter’ Composer Coming to Silent Hill: Downpour

Silent Hill is in need of a new composer, and Daniel Licht, the composer for Showtime’s series “Dexter,” is picking up in his place on Silent Hill: Downpour.

The series’ former composer, Akira Yamaoka, left Konami in 2009, so the music gap needs to be filled. Licht’s work on “Dexter” hits a decidedly eerie, dark tone — which is what Silent Hill needs — but how his work turns out in the game will certainly have an effect on the atmosphere of the uber-creepy town.

Destructoid got hold of a sample of Licht’s work for Silent Hill, and you can hear the “Dexter” similarities in it (which I like, but then, I like “Dexter”). You can judge it for yourself: Destructoid whipped up a simple video for it, and we’ve got it embedded below.
