Blizzard Launches Diablo 15th Anniversary Site
The year was 1996. Clinton was president. The Macarena was an inexplicable hit. Independence Day… existed, for some reason. And on December 6, Blizzard released Diablo and everyone freaked out and went crazy over it. That was 15 years ago people. Someone who was a baby at the time is now eligible for a learner’s permit. Think about that for a second, old timers.
Anyway, enough chatter. 2011 is the 15th anniversary of one of the most influential games ever made, which makes the release of Diablo 3 all the more appropriate. To celebrate this milestone (and, perhaps, to make those of us not able to play the beta even sadder about the passage of time), Blizzard has launched a 15th anniversary Diablo website. It features a timeline, a video retrospective, interviews with Jay Wilson and Chris Metzen, and stirring, thrilling paragraphs of tribute. See the whole thing here.
