I cant see how this can be a bad thing? Retweeting something diablo3 related, can only go towards a bigger base of potential buyers, which in return secures blizzard financially. – Which then ensures they have more financial interest in improoving their merchandise/brand, which is— diablo 3.

what this means for blizzard is completely irrelevant. gamefront could have done a thousand kinds of giveaways whithout compromising their integrity. they couldve asked for email adresses, could have sent the keys out on twitter… for the first people to see them to grab. hell, they could have just posted the keys on their website. they did this twitter giveaway purely for one reason: getting more people to follow them on twitter. that was the objective. you have to follow us on twitter AND bother your friends with our tweet. this creates a snowball-like effect, much like in a pyramid-scheme. i think it is disgusting to trick gamers into doing your PR and bother every of their twitter followers with a tweet none of them want and i dont want so send out. but that is only part of the problem… *heartattack* lol… off.

same thing here, i retweeted about 30-40 minutes in, got no key.
there where about 50-100 retweets at that time.
if you sent out > 100 keys all early tweeters should have gotten a key.

but meh i am used to it, after dozens of contests this ain’t the last one to lose.

You posted the rules for this giveaway, and then you did whatever you wanted.
I really wanted the beta, but this is not the problem. The problem is that you weren’t able to do what you promised…
When i work and i make a mistake i’m aware i can lose a customer, so keep in mind this… today you lost a lot of customers.

Retweeting not more than 30 mins after it went live and a full day with high hopes this might be it, I might actually finally get in the beta. And then seeing people who entered 1-2 hours later than me getting their keys, making me refresh like a madman. And then seeing the message “we are done”. Oh the bitterness.

Please, next time test the system you are going to use. These “twitter issues” made a lot of people very disappointed.

Certainly wasn’t first come first served. Many people retweeted very shortly after their tweet, or within the first hour, and didn’t receive a key, myself included. Yet people who retweeted 2 hours+ later did. Good game, gamefront.

Its fake i retweet in the 1st minutes and got nothing..

They could not keep track of twitter time stamps, so it was not come first served first.
No idea how they managed to send the same key to multiple people though, that’s fairly retarded.

So after retweeting few mins after this came up, seeing only around 30 retweets.
first come first serve, which meant it was only about waiting on the direct as u had no particular order… but the message that the giveaway ended came first…
Really goodjob, ofc go ahead and blame twitter like others blamed facebook, sad wannabe professional sites can’t set something up themself, but gues nowadays its all about followers, fans…

I wanted to take a moment to respond to some of your feedback on this giveaway.

WHY TWITTER?
First–Blizzard recommended that we directly message people individual codes, as opposed to mass-posting a bunch of them in a list somewhere. Understandably, mass-posting can create confusion, as multiple people try and claim the same key. Twitter seemed like a good solution for direct messages.

THEN WHAT?
We discovered that Twitter is, in fact, not a good solution for sending lots of direct messages, particularly when it’s hundreds. We had used Twitter before to distribute keys in smaller volume, and it worked fine.

The main issue is Twitter’s ability to reliably track @mentions, which is extremely poor. Other words that may describe it: haphazard, arbitrary. So, when we distributed all of the keys, we did so chronologically (as we inteded)–but it was Twitter’s version of chronology, which is, again: haphazard, arbitrary and generally incomplete.

This is why you may have re-tweeted our original tweet earlier than someone else who received a Diablo 3 beta key, while you did not. We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration.

WHAT NOW?
We’ve contacted Blizzard, and if/when they have more Diablo 3 beta keys, we will distribute them through a more secure service. Stay tuned on that. We won’t be using Twitter again to distribute beta keys, of that you can be sure. Perhaps YouTube (drop a comment, get a YouTube message with your key), or we’ll simply use a Game Front post (drop a comment, include a valid email, we’ll email you your code).

Anyway, lesson learned. Thanks everyone.

I received a beta key from this contest. I was super excited about being able to dip into the beta and have some fun. I go to enter the key and get “invalid code please check your key and try again.”

Needless to say that I just got off the phone with Blizzard Customer Support and the gentleman who was assisting me had me read him the key I was given. After a few minutes away (looking into the situation) he returned to tell me that the key is not associated with any game at Blizzard. I reread the key twice to make sure it came out correct….same result. The support staff then told to contact game front directly in order to resolve the problem.

So, how can this be remedied?

@ 2Shori Gamefront is in no obligation to provide you with a code to unlock the Diablo 3 beta. In fact, they can do whatever they want with those codes. So please, stop whining an blaming them. Get a life, play some other games and don’t be afraid, Activision/Blizzars is going to announce a release date for their game, sooner or later… So till then, get a life!!!

Yeah so you guys are just blatant liars. I won a key on my twitter with the same name as this post, was sent it via direct private message and it’s invalid. My questions regarding this to both the twitter account and customer service here are being completely ignored.

It also apparently didn’t happen to only me, as other people have contacted me seeing my tweets and have expressed equal outrage. PLUS you gave away multiple keys to some people, as I’ve seen them being given away on various other sites.

So yeah, you guys. You’re just liars and you ing ignore people when they have a serious concern over your customer support. Pieces of
