Diablo 3 for Consoles Gets Its Own Trailer

The previously announced port of Diablo 3 to PlayStation 3 & 4 had us wondering how they were going to handle things like character controls and UI elements. And while today’s gameplay footage released during PAX East 2013 doesn’t lay out the answers explicitly, we can see from the trailer that much of the game looks intact. The abilities bar and health indicator has moved to the lower left while the automap is parked on the lower right. This leaves plenty of room for the action to play out.

But there are major changes coming for the console port. The real money auction house won’t make the cut to console according to Ben Kuchera’s account from the PAX floor this afternoon. But offline play, something not available on the PC version, will be available on the PlayStation 3 version. No word on the inclusion or exclusion of features for the PlayStation 4 port.

The other interesting tidbit is that Blizzard confirmed that the game is built to work on any console, not just the PlayStation line. Maybe we’ll be seeing an Xbox version by E3.

Does the footage get you psyched to play? Let us know in the comments.

No, the footage does not get me excited and it never will. I was an idiot to blindly buy Diablo 3 for PC and even if I did own a PS 3 or PS 4 (which I won’t) I would not touch this failure of a game.

I feel sorry for anyone who buys this game for $60. I expected D3 to be a great game, unfortunately, it’s far from it. Maybe after two expansions and another 5 years of patches.
