Dice Might Be Making Mirror’s Edge 2
Supposedly, Dice’s upcoming non-Battlefield slate of games includes work on Mirror’s Edge 2. At least according to Ben Cousins, former general manager of EA subsidiary Easy Studio. Cousins, it seems, is the Stockholm gaming industry’s biggest gossip, and boy howdy does he ever have the goods. “It is general knowledge in the Stockholm dev scene,” he said, probably ostentatiously covering the side of his mouth while whispering, “that Mirror’s Edge 2 is in production at DICE.”
ORLY? Maybe, but he didn’t have anything else to say. However, PC GamesN reminds us that the fellow has previously been reprimanded by EA for disclosing “trade secrets and confidential information.” So he might be onto something. Then again, he might also be tweaking the noses of his former employers. So who knows.
The important thing here is that Mirror’s Edge is still getting a sequel. I rather liked that game, even if the plot was weak and the levels lacked real variety, so here’s hoping EA doesn’t improve it by adding mandatory multiplayer and same day DLC. JUST KIDDING OF COURSE THEY WILL.
