DICE Reveals Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam Trailer and Details
Across the seas at the Tokyo Game Show, EA and DICE are showing off the first look at Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam, the upcoming expansion pack to the very successful multi-platform shooter.
The expansion will offer up four new multiplayer maps based in the Vietnam War that will feature all the fun things you’d expect. Tunnels, foxholes, and dense jingle will allow the NVA to attack from just about anywhere, and 15 Vietnam era weapons, along with six vehicles, will allow you to repel those attacks.
This expansion is completely integrated with the original game, meaning that you’ll retain your level progression, and earn XP normally no matter which theater you’re fighting in.
There are also all-new voice-overs for soldiers on both sides of the conflict, as well as two hours worth of period authentic music tracks. No surprise here, as DICE nailed the sound pretty well in their last effort in Southeast Asia, Battlefield: Vietnam.
I hope that we’ll see additional Vietnam maps released as free DLC down the road, because four maps feels a little skimpy. Still, it’s obvious that DICE is trying to add value to a shooter that already has a lot people playing it, and that’s never a bad thing.
Here’s the first trailer for the upcoming expansion, followed by the first three screens. You can watch it below, or you can download it from our fast, free servers.
