DICE Transparent About Known BF4 Issues, Solution Status

It’s no secret that Battlefield 4 has been suffering from issues since launch. As expected, DICE is working to resolve these issues, but what’s worthy of note is the developer’s transparency in keeping its community updated on the status of resolving these issues.

In a post on the official Battlefield blog, DICE has been keeping BF4 players up to date on the bugs the developer has been attempting to squash and the updates it has been rolling out. Multiple fixes have already gone out for server crashes across all platforms and server queue issues on PC,

DICE is still working on resolving game freezes, lost multiplayer progress, and singleplayer save file corruptions. The developer has a fix for “missing/corrupted audio in multiplayer,” which may or may not be the infamous “shellshock sound glitch,” and plans to release it in the next PC client patch.

Should DICE be lauded for the way it has been handling the resolution of these issues, or should it have done a better job ensuring they didn’t exist in the first place?

Personally I think they should of worked harder before release on the multi player game not to mention alot of what people are experiencing now is also what they experienced in beta. Why have a beta if not to figure out the bugs and fix them. I for one am not going to preorder from them again its been an ugly road. To end on a good note when it’s all fixed im sure it will be a great online game. The single player was awesome in my opinion ( when it didn’t random crashed one me.)

Yet still it crashes! I was looking forward to being able to play a full game without a crash or a freeze and then mid-game my game freezes and closes! I thought this was fixed!

ALL these problems were there in Alpha and the Beta, testers were posting the same bug reports almost non-stop, and yet here we are, with exactly the same bugs (plus a few more). Bad DICE, bad ¬_¬

I hope they do something about all the lost xp from game crashes. I used many of my battle packs that gave me 25% more xp in a hour but on multiple occasions lost all the xp and the perk due to server crashes.. kinda bummed about that tbh.

The sad truth is that we now live in an era where we expect there to be bugs in game after release, all the time. Its like buying a new car expecting it to not start occasionally or splutter down the road. That, to me, doesn’t sound right. At the end of the day BF4 was released in a frankly unfinished state, and should be regarded as a faulty product. Something needs to change in the industry to prevent this happening in the future.

The reason this games is as bad as it is is two fold…. 1. DICE doesn’t listen to thier testers, nor thier community. 2. EA was greedy as usual, all they wanted was to beat CoD Ghosts to release day.

I am done buying DICE/EA products. They don’t release playable games and charge far too much for 1/2 way produced product. If DICE were to separate from EA they would be far better off……
