Gamers who enjoy collecting soundtracks to their favorite titles now have another OST to add to their collection. Direct Song has announced the released of the Guild Wars: Eye of the North OST composed by Jeremy Soule.

jeremysouleboxart_160w.jpgSoule is the composer of the scores for the original Guild Wars game as well as all the expansions. This “organic”orchestral composition is actually completely electronic with all the depth and timber of a live orchestral performance. The music has very Germanic overtones that fit the new setting for Eye of the North.

The soundtrack has received very favorable reviews.

Jayson Napolitano told Music4Games.net, “While each score has had a “theme” Eye of the North revisits to the classical heritage of the original title. The music takes on a more mature tone, however, and really comes off as Soule’s most powerful and serious score to date.”

Salome Hall says, “At 70-minutes long, EOTN is a generous listen and with thirty-three tracks one might be expecting the album to deflate before its barely gets off of the ground. Yet, it doesn’t. Once the soundtrack gets into its stride with a Germanic overture it doesn’t seem to drop a gear…” in the Soundtrack.net review.

You can preview the music at the DirectSong website and judge for yourself.
