Dishonored Will Launch with a Proper PC UI

One of the greatest criticisms leveled against Skyrim was the insulting console UI included in the PC version of the game. So frustrating was it for PC gamers that a mod had to be made to rectify it. Thankfully, Bethesda has learned from this heinous crime and is developing a UI for Dishonored that offers customization as well as PC-specific options. Ah, I can once again love Bethesda — all is right with the world.

Since there’s little reason to have Quick Access Wheel controls if you’re using a mouse and keyboard, a PC-specific “shortcut” bar appears when you hit one of the shortcut buttons — which are mapped by default to the 1-10 keys — and then fades out just as quickly, giving you a more familiar interface to select your powers and gadgets. You still have the option to use the standard Quick Access Wheel, which defaults to “mouse wheel click” on PC.

Other features include a field of vision slider, controller and mouse sensitivity options, four different options related to auto aim strength and aim assist, a mouse smoothing/acceleration slider and enable/disable options, as well as graphics options for the full spectrum of monitor resolutions, anti-aliasing, and various other graphical toggles.

Unfortunately, 90% of today’s games have ed up mouse settings.
