DJ Hero Dev Thinks His Game Might Have Increased Actual Turntable Sales

So Jamie Jackson, creative director for DJ Hero Dev FreeStyle Games, was talking to CVG recently about how a bunch of people went out and bought guitars and stuff after playing Guitar Hero.  And Mr. Jackson rolled out this gem: “I can’t confirm it, but someone’s told me the same thing about DJ equipment — that they’ve seen sales in The States at Best Buy and Wal-Mart increase.”

Despite there being basically no evidence that this is true, probably because nobody has thought to ask, I can see this being the case. Folks play DJ Hero and feel really cool, and then they start to wonder how much cooler they would feel if they could mix up some sweet-ass mashups with real turntables. The answer: way cooler.
