Don't Call It A Comeback… Wait, Scratch That

Here’s the scenario for this video: The location is a Pro Evo Tournament in NY. The game is Street Fighter III: Third Strike. The score is 1-1. Whoever wins this round wins the match and will be crowned champion.

The commentator in the video reveals that one of the contestants, Daigo, is showing a bit of anger. What results from Daigo’s anger is an amazing amount of parries to counter Justin Wong’s Chun-Li special move combo. For those of you who never played SF3: Third Strike, to time a single parry move is an amazing feet by itself because it’s a precisely timed input (I believe it’s FWD + Punch or BCK + Punch) and to pull it of in rapid successions as Daigo did is remarkable and truly makes this video one of the most amazing tournament outcomes ever to be recorded.

Wow, I came across this footage again. It’s always incredible no matter how many times I watch it. That’s about as “Grand” as a grand finals could get. ^_^
