Don’t Starve Update Adds Adventure Mode, Weather, and More

Beyond the announcement that pre-ordering Don’t Starve comes with two special items for Team Fortress 2, the game’s latest update adds rainy weather to the game during the summer. The illusive “Merm”, a sea-dwelling creature that loves water, has a chance to show up whenever it rains.

The rain can put a real damper on your spirits and potentially get you killed as it’ll put out any fires you have, so you’ll have to walk around with an umbrella to stay dry. You can also get struck by lightning.

In addition to the new weather system, the new update adds a ton of new stuff to build, including meat racks, jerky, gunpowder, a Rainometer, and more.

Finally, the update sees the inclusion of the game’s Adventure Mode. It’s pretty rough at this point and only contains sketches of the actual adventure levels, sans story bits.

Don’t Starve is set for an April 24 release.
