Don’t Throw Away Your Mass Effect 3 Saves
We all know that Mass Effect 3 will be the final game in the Commander Shepard Trilogy. Sadface. But obviously a series this successful isn’t going to die easy. There’s money to be mined for as long as possible, so obviously there will be more Mass Effect games. The interesting twist? Your Mass Effect 3 outcome might actually have an impact on those (so far purely hypothetical) future Mass Effect games. That news comes courtesy of an interview with Mass Effect 3 Associate Producer Mike Gamble, over on Gamerzinest.
“It wouldn’t be a bad idea (to keep your ME3 saves),” Gamble said. “Obviously I can’t say anything, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea…” Interesting! And completely vague. So if the ending will have an impact on future games, what does that mean for the ending?
“We want the outcomes to be satisfying to the player. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re all going to be happy or positive, but they have to be satisfying. Players have to understand that the choices they’ve been making in this game and in previous have had an impact, and that they’re an architect in what happens.”
So, downer endings are still a go. And BioWare might even be planning something terrible for Commander Shepard. Good to know. So hold on to your save files guys. You might need them later.
