Doom 4 Canceled, Screenshots Leaked (RUMOR)
Rumors that Doom 4 has been canceled came with a bounty of screenshots allegedly taken from the game. GameInformer’s Jim Reilly quickly denied the cancellation rumors via Twitter, but the screenshots remain unaccounted for.
Reilly tweeted:
Bethesda says Doom 4 is not canceled.

The screenshots depict a post-apocalyptic setting, similar to 1994′s Doom 2: Hell on Earth. Doom 3 was a call-back to the original Doom’s space station setting, so it’s not a stretch to believe Doom 4 would revisit Earth.
While we suspect these screenshots may simply be post-apocalyptic 3d artwork taken from a graphic designer’s portfolio, we were unable to find any evidence to support this theory. However, the pictures do suggest a post-apocalyptic present-day, rather than the post-apoc future you’d expect from a setting with space marines.
For instance, consider this screenshot:
Which seems to exactly depict the logo of this restaurant:
And a better view:
Other real locations depicted in the screenshots include McDonald’s, Collision Center, and Jill’s Paint.
Do you believe these screenshots are “fake?”

The screens look more like someones art portfolio rather than in game screen shots.
