DotA 2 Coming in 2012
Every time we get a new email about DotA 2 from Valve, it says that it’ll be out later this year. It looks like that might not be the case anymore, according to a Gabe Newell interview with Eurogamer.
He told them that Valve plans to launch a closed beta after Gamescom, and that “then we’ll probably start worrying about how we’ll monetise it.”
“We’ll just go into progressively wider and wider distribution. I don’t think it’ll be shipped until next year.”
So while you won’t be able to buy DotA 2 this year, it’s a distinct possibility that you will be able to play it this year. So that’s cool.
