DOTA 2 is Coming at GamesCom

Remember how we mentioned that we thought Valve would be showing DOTA 2 at GamesCom? It’s all but officially confirmed at this point thanks to some new information.

Over on the official GamesCom site , they’ve got Valve listed as showing an unnamed ‘Strategy Game.’ Even more convincing, it looks like Valve is flying professional DOTA players to the show for an on-site tournament. Here’s a copy of the letter, as obtained by DOTA-Two.com.

GosuGamer reports that a source has told them that the tournament will feature 8 European Teams and 6 Asian Teams who will get Beta Keys for DotA2, travel expenses to Germany and will battle from 17th-21st of August in Cologne in a promotion Tournament for a 5-digit dollar prize pool. Judging from this letter, we can likely confirm all of that except the prize money.

We’ll have to wait until GamesCom, which starts August 17, to get more news. We’ll keep you posted on what we learn.
