Double Fine Unveils Broken Age, A Point-and-Click Adventure

After months of ending its highly successful Kickstarter fund, Double Fine has finally announced that the game previously known as the Double Fine Adventure now has a name: Broken Age.

The game was announced today at Double Fine’s currently on-going panel at PAX East.

Broken Age has been quietly in development since becoming the biggest (at the time) game to be successfully funded on Kickstarter—an event which proved the viability of the platform, and prompted many more game studios to seek funding through the public, including Wasteland 2, Shadowrun Returns and Project Eternity.

According to the game’s website, which was launched just now, Broken Age is a point-and-click adventure telling the story of a young boy and girl leading parallel lives. The girl has been chosen by her village to be sacrificed by a monster, but she decides to fight back. Meanwhile, the boy lives a solitary life on a spaceship under the care of a computer, but wishes to break free to lead adventures and do good in the world.

If you didn’t support it on Kickstarter, you can preorder the game directly through the website.
