  3. You’ll notice that three pillars are already connected at one end and five are connected at the other. Go to the fifth one and rotate it three times so that there is a torch facing North (at the wall) and one East (to the next pillar to the right—the sixth pillar).
  4. Rotate the sixth pillar four times so that there is a torch facing the fifth pillar as well as one facing the pillar to the South (we’ll call this one the seventh pillar). Rotate this seventh pillar three times so that a torch is facing the sixth pillar as well as the pillar along the wall (the eighth pillar).
  5. The eighth pillar should already be linked up with the ninth pillar (the one to the right of it against the wall). Rotate the pillar just in front of the ninth one once and this should link them all up and break the forcefield blocking the door.

  7. Go back and take the items from the pile of bones next to the wall. Open the door in front of the bones, read the “Lock within Locks” note on the floor, the “Helm of Weisshuapt” note in the corner and take the item from the crate in the other corner.
  8. Activate the Power Nexus on the wall to the right of the door before exiting. Turn right and follow the path around to the door. After you open it, follow the pathway around and take the item from the pile of bones in the second alcove to the right.
  9. Head through the doorway in the opposite corner. After you enter through the second doorway, take the items from the chest in the alcove to the right. Head through the next doorway and read the “A Change of Course” letter on the floor.
  10. Activate the Power Nexus on the wall to the left, then head all the way back to the original area of this main room (the part where you had to do the little bit of fighting). When you come to that final open doorway on the right, turn through it.
  11. Walk down to the end of this hallway and open the door on the right. Activate the Power Nexus on the wall to the left. Exit through the doorway, proceed straight through the next doorway and open the door at the end.
  12. Following the cutscene, kill the monsters created by Janeka. Advance down the hallway on the left and make a right up the stairs at the end to advance to the next area.

Prison Tower

  1. After you head up the stairs, turn right and walk across the bridge towards the tower. Following the cutscene where Janeka threatens to take your blood, take her and her minions out.
  2. After you take their items, walk around and activate the four Containment Pillars using Hawke’s key. And now it’s Corypheus time!!!
  3. To start off, get in as many whacks as you can on Corypheus. Eventually, he will levitate up onto the center platform. He will then draw power from the four Containment Pillars and use them to turn his hands into incinerating torches.
  4. Once you have completed this (along with killing the small handful of enemies that will appear), Corypheus will eventually come down from his center platform. As soon as he does, quickly hit him with a few attacks because before you know it he will be back up on the platform.
  5. This time around Corypheus will raise the ground in addition with his fire tactics. This will create a bit of a challenge in getting around to the four pillars, but your goal is still the same—namely, destroying them.
  6. After you do this, help your party kill any remaining enemies. Once Corypheus comes down again, get in your attacks as quickly as possible before he returns to the center platform.
  7. ACHIEVEMENT: Repeat this process once more and then you should have Corypheus on his last leg. After you slay Corypheus you will earn the “Conductor” Achievement.
  8. Cross back over the bridge to meet up with Larius and officially complete the Legacy quest.

Make sure the Legacy DLC is in your purchased content section and that it is checked off in the data loading section. There should be a gryphon statue in the library of your home.

Problem .. In my battle with Corypheus, after I have faught him several times and he has added the fire, rocks, lightening, and ice, I again disable all of the statues but nothing else happens. He just continues to churn out the elements up on his perch. I run around and around but he does not come back down. Am I missing something?

@Peggy, you need to defeat every summoned minion. Only when all of them are dead will Corypheus come down off the center pedestal where you can fight him.

Problem: Corypheus doesn’t die! I switch-off the statues, kill all of the minions, and even bring Corypheus down to 0 health, but he just doesn’t die. He goes back to the center pod, and I again shut down all of the statues, no minions come up, and Corypheus just stays there in the center. Is it possible I got a glitched download?

I am having the same problem as Mike. Switched off statues (both times), killed all shades/demons (whatever), but Corypheus just stands on the center pedestal shooting fire out of his hands while he continually rotates and attacks with the other elements as well. He does not come down as he did earlier in the battle. You can no longer interact with any of the statues, the rest of my party is long dead, and going to the center platform where Corypheus attacks from also proves useless. He appears untouchable at this point and there is nothing left to kill (except Corypheus) and nothing left to activate/deactivate. As I run around searching for some kind of solution, I eventually run out of health potions/lifewards. It’s extremely frustrating. Anyone else having a similar problem? I’m a level 19 rogue. Thanks in advance for your help.

? After you activate all the power nexus you can go back to the room where you make the power flow, there are 4 colored power streams, how do you get all 4 streams to connect at the same time…

What’s going on here? I made it all the way to Corypheus and got him to 0 health and he won’t die. I’ve been fighting him for an hour now, trying to avoid his ridiculous knockback attack and stabbing away when I can. He will NOT go down. His health is utterly GONE.

Quick question, and hoping. I have made it through Legacy to the Griffon statue next to the gate. I watch your video and see you pass through easily. But I have gotten there, and the gate refuses to open for me. I am just standing there in front of the griffon statue with nothing to do. Have you seen this? What are you supposed to do to open the gate?

Justin B

On November 14, 2011 at 7:39 am

I’m have the same problem as the others.

Corypheus just doesn’t come down after knocking off the switches. He just rotates around and around and around…etc.

Kind of frustrating knowing that apparently you’re just gonna bite it in the end.

On November 14, 2011 at 7:51 am

Correction…if you find Corypheus stuck on the platform, sadly you’re just going to have to start all over again from your last save.

Has anyone had problems with the gate next to the Griffon statue not opening?

I’ve managed to take the end boss down to zero health a number of times now…he won’t die, even on the rare occasion I can bring my party back from the dead to join the fight. Somewhat frustrating as every once in awhile he refuses to come down from the center platform and I wind up going through the process again. Anyone else had this issue; perhaps found a solution?

I too have had the same problems. The first time, everyone kept dying, after reviving a two even, (remember the dog, he’ll give you a little help), anyway, once it was me and him and I’d hit all the statues, killed everything, he stopped going to the center, at which time he only had activated fire and the stone. Still, I brought his health down to zero and kept hurting him. HE WOULD NOT DIE. Eventually I ran out of potions.

The second time, I saved my two revival potions for the very end and revived my warrior and my dog, once again all three of us got him down to zero, defeated everything. This time, we were kicking ass, but after a while, even though I could make it without potions, I knew after half an hour of attacking a guy who should be dead, I just gave up.

Now I don’t know what to do. Restart everything? its the only achievement I don’t have. I wish I had more revival potions they kept dying. I brought the elven warrior lyrium guy (see this is how disgusted I got that I’m forgetting character name’s), Hawke’s sister the mage, and I isabella.

I’m a rougue at least at level 19, but I focus on combat. I think I should have brought the dwarf guy because maybe his arrows could have got the dude in the middle, and Isabella often died first, and my sister sucked. I remembered the dog, and no matter what the big bad evil did to him in the end, he never died. blah. I really don’t know if its worth going back, and replaying everything.

On January 24, 2012 at 2:23 pm

has anyone tried with a different class? It seems that rogues are having problems but the guy in the video was a mage anyone know?

On February 10, 2012 at 2:39 am

Playing 12th level mage with Varric, Carter & Aveline playing at nightmare level until I got tired of everyone dying fighting the major bad guy so tried casual and still died until I read how to defeat the bad guy. It wasn’t till I defeated the darkspawn (along with destroying the glowing statues that the major bad guy came off his stand and we beat the snot out of him. At the point where you can go back to town, stocked up on 27 elfroot & 4 restorations potions. Don’t know about other classes, but do as instructed, you can beat the bad guy. When we got to the bag guy, had 4 health & 2 restoration potions.

Life’s a lot easier if you chill out around the statues themselves. Deactivate, kill the mobs, then wait for the fire to pass by before leaving the little alcove and heading to the next statue, more so once the walls are up as your companions are far less likely to get killed, or find themselves stuck fighting Guardians. Only ran this with a lvl 13 rogue since I didn’t really want to hit him at a higher level but by ducking into the alcoves and letting the fire sweep past I still had all my people every time he came down off his perch along with plenty of potions to carry on with. Suffice to say, its a stop and go path to get your folks through the barriers at times, but if you get everyone into an alcove with one stuck out, hold position and manually run the idiot companion in and your generally fine.

So I am guessing no one has even come across the gates not opening at all then.

Brett

On March 14, 2012 at 9:42 am

@Billy D – My gate didnt open at all when I first attempted to play, it didnt open until I beat the game I was playing and started a new one.

My biggest issue is my party members dying even using my dog doesn’t help I get to the lightning then I just get slaughtered. How can I keep my party alive? I’m a level 19 mage playing casual because after like 14 tries and just dying each time I switched it, and I still just get killed, I tried to stay next ot the statue to avoid the flames but they still reach me….
