Dragonborn DLC Drops Tomorrow For Xbox 360

Well, the fail parade that is the PS3 and PC experience on Skyrim continues apace with the news that, yet again, only Xbox 360 owners will be getting on-time access to the next DLC packet. Bethesda has announced that the Dragonborn DLC, which drops tomorrow for Xbox 360, will not launch for PC or Playstation 3 until ‘early 2013′.

From the announcement:

We’re less than 24 hours away from unleashing Skyrim’s next add-on Dragonborn on Xbox LIVE. It’s one of our most ambitious add-ons ever and we’re excited for everyone to play it.

We’re also happy to announce Dragonborn will be available on PS3 and PC early next year.

Of course, this assumes that PS3 owners will get it at all. DLC problems have plagued both PC and PS3, but PS3 has been uniquely boned. Dawnguard for PC was two months behind the Xbox 360 version, and Hearthfire at least launched for PC alongside the Xbox version. Neither add-on has a PS3 version, and the announcement today says nothing about the previous DLC coming to PS3.

My guess is that Dragonborn never makes it to PS3.

They did say they planned to put Dragonborn on PS3. I have faith they will keep to their world. Though I don’t think dawnguard let alone hearthfire will see the light of day on PS3.

Why no love for the PS3 and PC gamers? They shoud get any dlc that 360 gamers get on the same day. Glad I chose to be a 360 gamer.

I have yet to play Skyrim and I’m starting to think I probably won’t bother. The PC *made* Bethesda, but after I saw the screenshots of Skyrim and its Fallout UI, well…its obvious that the bottom line has fully trumped quality.

Psh…. Whatever Bethesda. Take your Microsoft bucks and pour it into another single player masterpiece like skyrim. As a PC Skyrim player I shall continue to enjoy the thousands steamworks mods, many of which are equal to your DLC releases in quality. There are easily a half dozen 4 to 8 hour single player adventures available for free. I laugh at you petty console gamers.

psycros,

I’m assuming you’re a PC gamer. Now unless you are a dedicated multiplayer action junkie with no love for *any* roleplaying, then you MUST try skyrim. Give it one solid weekend afternoon and I assure you you’ll be hooked. It is phenomenal. Truly the best single player video game ever made.

I’m still waiting for the GOTY Edition on a 75% Steam sale anyway.
