Dark Arisen

Garden of Ignominy

The starting area will introduce some of the challenges you’ll face in this massive dungeon. Down the first corridor, the road turns left where some scattered statues mark the path.

There’s an optional direction to explore on the right. In the corner, there are roots with a door leading into a store room full of middling spiders. These giant spiders are only about the size of your head – the worst they can do is bite or spit webs.

Taking the ladder down in the storage room leads through a stone passage full of heavy goblins. The bigger goblins are more challenging than usual, so it’s important to clear out the spiders if you need to retreat.

Be sure to check the stone hall’s lower waterways to grab extra treasure. There’s also extra treasure in a small side-room where the goblins are waiting.

Back on the main path with the statues, a small pack of wargs will attack from the shadows. These creatures shouldn’t offer much challenge to your team – if they do, it might be time to earn extra levels.

Turning right, there are two more paths to take. The doorway on the left is blocked by crates that you can smash to find some extra treasure. Otherwise, take the right path leading across a waterfall. The path is full of snakes; tread carefully.

In the courtyard down this pathway, you’ll face off against a truly terrifying boss – Death! The Reaper appears out of thin air, alongside a gang of goblins.

The Reaper can kill in a single swipe of its scythe. Don’t get close! Stay far back and pick off the goblins.

The Reaper will teleport to your location in the courtyard, using its lantern to pick targets. You’ll see the yellow light slowly search for a pawn or player. Stay out of the light.

When the lantern shifts from yellow to purple, that means he’ll use a stunning magical attack that effects anything within the circle. Run out of you’ll freeze in place.

Watch for when the Reaper rears back. His scythe will literally kill in a single hit, every single time. Stay far away from the Reaper, he has no ranged attacks. Run away when he gets close, never stand around near him.

After a few minutes of avoiding the Reaper, it will disappear as suddenly as it appeared. Mysterious! You’ll be seeing this guy again.

There’s more to know about this area – a Cyclops will sometimes spawn here. Not always. Leaving the zone and returning will make him disappear if the battle is too much for you.

Clear out the goblins and collect the many rewards around the outdoor courtyard. In the grass, there are many useful curatives – Potent Greenwarish and Kingwarish can be found next to the bushes.

Leave the yard through the steps lit by burning braziers. Down the exit path, there’s a door to the right filled with giant rock bricks. Climb them to find lots of extra cash. Keep climbing up to find a large chest on a platform.

The remaining stairs lead down to another open door. Continue through to find another important character, and a hub leading to other areas.

@dart,

Have you considered, perhaps, that you’re having trouble in Dark Arisen? It’s starting to look likely to me. If you need help, drop a comment and ask a question. I promise we don’t bite.

For the record, you can’t write a 10k+ word walkthrough or make a video guide without playing the game first. Maybe they can get away with that nonsense where you come from, but it doesn’t happen here.

I’m having trouble with the dark mage, and dragon. Nothing I seem to do works. How do I get passed this?

@ben; This is one of the harder fights in Dark Arisen. Basically, you need to kill the dragon. The dark mage will possess the dragon and revive it — that’s when you’ll need to kill it yet again. Killing the possessed dragon will stun the Dark Mage and leave him vulnerable, allowing you and your pawns to beat him down. If you’re well-leveled, it should only take 2-3 instances to defeat the mage.

What kind of party are you taking into the fight? Are the huge tornadoes the problem? Don’t forget to go in with some revive stones. The dark mage can wipe your hero out so quickly, it isn’t worth losing the entire fight if you die and the boss only has a little health left.

I watched the video. I’ve got 2 fighters, and 2 mages with holy affenity, and high heal aaffenity. The tornados are not the problem. I’ve been at this boss for 9 hrs now. The dragon turns my ppl to stone. They have secret soft. They don’t use it. The mages don’t use any magic at all. I’ve gotten lucky once. Had the mage down to 3 dots with half a bar left. The other problem is the dragon is always hovering. No combo of ppl I take in helps. The dude in the video made it look easy. My pawns don’t use anything to help. Their like dead weight, and I can’t beat the thing alone.

I’m sorry man, but I’m not seeing how you beat this boss with some kind of mod or something. It gets even harder when you put it on the easiest setting. I’ve been gaming for a very log time, and this is the first game that’s harder on the easy setting. When I walk into the room im dead from the start. Its the same pattern every time. Unbeatable without some kind of help. I’ve uped it to 3 spell casters, and the same result. The guy in the video, im presuming its you Kevin, has 500hp less than I do, and if I even get touched by the dragon I lose 80% health. Not to mention that when my pawns die, it stands right on top of them. If im wrong then I’ll apologize, but something is very fishy with the game play on the video. For one the dragon stays across the map from him. It doesn’t do that in my game. Its on me like white on rice. No breathing room what so ever. The walkthrough to this point has been golden. Not this part though.

The game play in the video isn’t even the same as my game play. For one, you kill the dragon way to fast, and it stays down way longer. Second, where’s all of the bishops magic attacks? He’s constantly using them in my game play. Third, why aren’t your pawns dying? These are the things that lead me to believe that you are using some form of a mod here. Once again, if I’m wrong, then I’ll apologize right here for the world to see. Why doesn’t the dragon fly more in the video? Is it edited or something?

Big problem number one with the guy having a huge issue with the Dark Bishop and dragon. DON’T USE HOLY. He is very resistant to holy attacks, just stick with straight up physical attacks and preferably capable of ranged attacks to hit the bishop or dragon from afar. If you are at a reasonable level (level 90) you shouldnt have any serious issues. TBH i hace harder times with the garms and hellhounds compared to this guy because i basically blasted him with tenfold arrows and watched out for the death circles. If you hurt him a lot fast enough he wont be casting the big spells and instead goes straight to the dragon. After that you just wallop the dragon then wallop the bishop when he gets tossed out. when i was first able to beat the gazer i ripped through him like paper on the first go. I got badly wrecked though and barely managed to pull out in the bloodless stocked with all my pawns using a lifestone. Been stacking levels and improving gear to prepare for the next try. ALSO MAKE SURE YOU GOT 100% ON POISON, CURSES, DARKNESS, AND PETRIFYING along with as much resistance as you can get everywhere else. If they can’t cripple you then they won’t stand much of a problem.
