The DS is going to be getting a top notch racing game later this year when TrackMania DS is released. The PC racing series that is best known for its track editor that has led to some of the most insane racing tracks ever devised in a videogame will be packed into the DS cart.
The game, being designed by Firebrand – developers of Race Driver: Create & Race – has been in development for a few months now and will have a multiplayer mode. The press release doesn’t specify whether or not that means online multiplayer or not, but let’s cross our fingers it does. (And track sharing, please!)
TrackMania Nations for PC is a free version you can download from the game’s official website. It’s definitely worth checking out if you haven’t before. It’ll probably give you a better indication of what to expect from the DS version than the gameplay-free trailer above.
