DuckTales Remastered Announced
Bear with me for a moment. If you grew up in the 80s and 90s, you might remember this song:
Life is like a hurricane here in Duckburg
Race cars, lasers, aeroplanes – it’s a duck blur
You might solve a mystery or rewrite history
Duck Tales, Oo-oo
Tales of derring-do, bad and good luck tales, oo-oo
The cartoon might be long gone, but Scrooge McDuck and his buddies are coming back to the world of video games in DuckTales Remastered.
According to Capcom, DuckTales Remastered has seen the development team take the levels and layout from the original 1989 release as a foundation before expanding upon them to “significantly enhance” the game with new graphics, music, and sound. All of the visuals from the 8-bit game have been remade as hand-drawn and animated sprites, across a backdrop re-envisioned level backgrounds. In addition to that, original Disney Character Voices talent will be lending their voices to the game’s characters.
Further additions to the original include a tutorial level and Scrooge McDuck’s Museum, a location which allows players to track all their stats and compare their progress with others via global leaderboards.
Developed by WayForward and published by Capcom, the game is a remaster of the original Duck Tales and it’s slated for release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U. Catch it this Summer, and watch the trailer below.
