Dungeon Defenders 2 Reintroduces Tower Defense Co-Op

Trendy Entertainment announced Dungeon Defenders 2 earlier this week, describing the game as a MOBA in the vein of Dota 2 and League of Legends. Quite unlike its predecessor, which was built solely around a co-op Tower Defense mechanic and sold as a retail title, the new game will be free to play and offer a competitive mode in addition to classic tower defense.

Today, Trendy Entertainment unveiled the game in proper with the release of a co-op gameplay trailer showcasing Dungeon Defenders 2 in action. The trailer was released as a part of the game’s presence at PAX East 2013.

The new MOBA mode of Dungeon Defenders 2 is currently in closed beta, with a co-op mode similar to the original Dungeon Defenders to follow later this year.

Judging from the trailer, it appears to be a colorful game, and it doesn’t veer too far away from the formula of the original, so fans of Dungeon Defenders should feel at home with what the studio has planned.

Check out the trailer below.
