Dungeon Siege 3 Delayed to June 21

Square Enix has announced that they will not release their upcoming role-playing title, Dungeon Siege 3, on May 24 as planned. Instead, they’ve pushed the game back to June 21, 2011 for all platforms.

‘Final Polish’ was the reason given for the delay. Square Enix president and CEO Mike Fischer had this to say about the delay:

Square Enix is committed to delivering the ultimate Dungeon Siege experience. Although the final polish phase has demanded a bit more time than originally planned, we want to assure fans and followers that the additional effort will allow us to deliver an action-RPG worthy of its rich heritage.

In all honesty, a one month delay isn’t all that bad, and isn’t totally unexpected in this day and age. Assuming Square can hit this new revised release date, it doesn’t worry me at all.
